I've been into The Bedroom Bar a few times - but mostly to just use the bathroom or grab a drink to go during events like Rivington Street Festival. It is a pretty standard bar but it has some cool decor that stand out - a really interesting Desperate Dan 2D/3D artwork, some vintage clocks and a set of old cinema seats. The service was pretty slow when I went on a Tuesday night - lots of staff but they were more concerned with pouring themselves shots before they would serve me. Also two portions of chips from the kitchen took over 40 minutes despite there not being any other food orders coming out. With so much competition so close by, it really needs to step up its game.
One star is too much for this awful place. Rude staff yelling at people, a terrible manager that doesn't know how to treat clients or run a bar, starters that take one hour to get ready... This was the worst experience that I had in London. If you want to have fun or be well-served don't go there. I'm really surprised this dump is still open. They don't know the meaning of respect or good customer service. PS: The music sucks too.
How long does it take to make 6 margaritas? Well, if you're the barman in at The Bedroom Bar, you better leave a good 25 minutes. I visited Bedroom Bar with a group, so put in an order with quite a few drinks and it completely discombobulated the poor barman, who took ages to make the cocktails, forgot to put my food order through, then forgot about the other drinks I'd asked for. I believe he was new, but those shots the bar staff were doing probably didn't help matters... Generally, a nice place but there are so many other places even on the same street where you'd get better service!
I came here with a couple of friends for a drink on a Friday night just after 22:00. It was busy, but not overcrowded, we even managed to grab a table on a ground floor. There was no queue at the bar, so we got served pretty swiftly. I had a slushy cocktail of the month, which was quite strong and served in a bigger than average glass. No drinks including water are allowed to be brought from outside. I cycle in London, and felt uncomfortable leaving my cycling bottle of water at the entrance with the bouncers. Good music, quirky decor. We also wanted to try some Korean food at the Jubo, but will have to come back another time, as their kitchen closed at 22:00 on Friday instead of 23:00, as shown on their website.
Google has it listed as permanently closed unfortunately for me it wasn't. Went on a Friday night, place was terrible, no bar tariff shown which I think against licensing law, price of drinks changed every time at the bar, two of the three lagers on tap were off leaving you with cans out of plastic pint glasses and the coke was flat in spirits and mixers which I was charged more than £10 each for! Apparently it's different during the week which may explain some of the better reviews, I'll never know. One star is to much.
The place is worth a visit. Cool, nice bouncers, two rooms with different musics + another bar within. Only problem big - you go there hoping to have more than on drink be ready to wait long time. Staff behind the counter on the first floor is soooooo slow that we have being in a queue for more than 30 min. How is this possible?
I went there with some friends on a Friday night. The place was quite busy. It took over 30 mins to be served at the bar. The fries, which were free if you ordered drinks, got to our table over one hour later with some attitude from the waiter who was trying to be 'cool'. We then discover the slow bar service was due to the new and only barman in the premises. I will give it another try. Hopefully they will have more than one barman in the future.
The staff at this bar are the worst I've ever experienced. They've all been briefed to clear half full drinks from tables in the blink of an eye and serve all drinks as doubles if you don't specify. I've heard people getting kicked out for no reason, overly aggressive door staff who start pushing people for no reason just to assert authority, they need their licenses taken away. It seems the owner thinks treating people like dirt around Shoreditch is fine. I'm glad that word is getting around now, avoid this place at all costs, something will happen to ruin your night.
A good laugh on a Saturday night, especially when they have a live band playing with people coming up from the crowd singing. Quirky decorations inside and reasonable drink prices. Only complaint is it can take far too long to get served.
Worst night ever - owner Chris Greenwood chased us around all night insisting we pay entrance when we had been there before anyone was managing the door. We were sober, respectable and minding our own business but pretty much got kicked out. 4 other staff members apologised for his behaviour but we left to have a good time elsewhere and won't be going back. Ever. I recommend you stay away.
