I visited this morning as I was early for a meeting. It was the only place open in the village. The decor is clean and fun. The menu was a little dull and very expensive. I suppose being the only cafe open in the village they can charge what they want. The waitress was polite but forgetful. The chef came out of the toilet wiping his hands on his apron. I ordered a flat white £3 for a tiny cup (the quality of the crockery was premium but small), a glass of water (I had to ask twice for) and scrabbled egg on toast with bacon and local sausage £6.99 The sound in the kitchen was the constant beep of a microwave so my expectations were low. When it arrived it was OK. It was what it said 1 egg on 1 bit of soggy toast, bacon was fine but the sausage was definitely reheated. A bit of background music with have been nice and would have drowned out the constant mobile phones ringing and conversations. They take cards which I wasn't expecting. So 2* for that. Maybe with competition they will improve but with a very dreary village I doubt anybody would take the risk. The fishmonger up the road is well worth a look in after your coffee. First class customer service.

Dropped in this w/e with my mum. A good choice of properly served loose-leaf teas with a sand-timer and advice on judging strength of brew. Fabulous carrot cake and a generous serving of jam and cream for the single-scone tea we requested. Lovely. And warm and friendly service too. Oh and lots of great reading material. All in all, a great place for tea.

Top quality coffee and expertly made too. The best latte around and a charming young lady who looked after us

Been here many times as I live locally and normally fairly good, if expensive, but very disappointed today. No jacket potatoes available. Simple ham sandwich and salad took ages to arrive (only 2 tables apart from us). Poor prawn & avocado salad with soggy, brown avocado and not enough prawns. Asked for ham sandwich, no tomato, but whilst it wasn't in the sandwich, they put it in accompanying salad! Not enough ham in sandwich, either. All a bit unpalatable, to be honest. Not many people there and I'm not surprised.
