Fantastic place, always very well stocked across all music genres ranging from mainstream to the most obscure hidden gems and I never leave empty handed. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and I’d recommend this shop for anybody starting out collecting music or if you’re a seasoned connoisseur, always something for everyone!
Wow ! The choice here is massive! I will be back ,it was great talking to staff and other customers, unfortunately I didn't have much time here as I had a train to catch but I will make the effort to come back and spend a lot of time looking through the massive collection of vinyl.
Always worth a visit. A wide mix of musical styles awaits, some new, some second hand.
Beatdown Records is a fabulous record shop especially in terms of their stock. Their prices are also fairly low.
Loyalty card is class. I wouldn’t buy records from anywhere else!
One of my all time favourite shops and I’ve been to a fair few all over everyone who works there is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and they have a great selection for many different genres! The online inventory is helpful too and they are happy to order records in for customers. There’s a reason I don’t buy all my records online and Beatdown records is that reason! Keeping the art of record shopping alive! 10/10

Over a decade ago I came here as a teenager interested in hearing more prog music. I asked the lady in the vinyl room for recommendations and she played Moonmadness by Camel for me, I bought it and to this day it is still one of my favorite records. What I love most about this place is you're taken seriously no matter how old you are, or what you ask for :D
A great spot. As a fan of mostly electronic music, I was slightly disappointed to begin with until, just as we were leaving, the back room was opened. Inside is the rally good stuff. I spent more money than I should, but found some records that I’ve not seen in shops before. From my relatively limited experience of Newcastle’s record shops, this is the best
If you're starting out collecting and a bit shy, thinking you're not cool enough etc...have no fear, walk right on in. Good souls in here. I've been at this since 1984 You wander so I've been round the block, you see a listing on Gmaps and think yeah okay and then you find...a record shop and an actually free freebies box that reveals a Leonard Cohen compilation . So in I wander and the lads catered from the start for my obviously advanced neurosis. A massive quantity of every genre and every price. You will find very very cheap bargains here, and a lovely sounding turntable for you to try out. New releases, old school everythign covered And great knowledge from the peeps at the counter, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended in my top 5 shops in UK inside half hour and came away with a right nice haul. If you want. A friendly shop walk right on in
