This was once an upmarket, pleasant and enjoyable place to shop. Not any more. Resembles a bargain basement store. Restaurant area deserted and very cold. Not welcoming as one would expect. Rest room facilities shabby and not very clean. Plaster coming off walls and dreadful black damp on ceiling. Such a shame. Saving grace - helpful and pleasant staff.

We go to Beales for the little coffee shop on the first floor. The staff are lovely and it's always a lovely cuppa. The shop is not bad and the toy shop on the ground floor is the only one in town.

A brilliant shop with a good selection of clothes for all ages, sizes and price ranges. We have shopped at beales since it opened and have always enjoyed our weekly visit. Over the last few weeks we have been surprised by how empty the store has been and how depressed the staff have looked. The store is cold, the decor has been negleccted. On a recent visit i was caught short and needed the facilities, whilst looking for the toilet i found myself looking at peeling paint, damp and mould on walls and ceilings and to my total amazement mushrooms on the ceiling. After talking to a friend i also heard that the baby changing area was so damp that it has got to be a health issue. This was reported to the store manager but still nothong has been done. I hope someone takes notice and makes some improvements before they have to close down due to poor sales.

A great department store with polite helpfully staff. Disabled friendly. A cafe and rest room. Good quality goods.

I love it staff are really friendly maybe you could make the toys a little cheaper though!
