Turning up a day early to pack up the house without forewarning.
Packing muddy football boots with silk ties (and no protection on either).
Packing a wedding dress underneath heavy, hardback books.
Packing-in through a large window without protecting the window frame (needed a complete sanding and repaint).
Damaging/denting at least a dozen items (most of them light shades, but one of the a metal bin!)

I only realised how bad this experience was when I moved again 18 months later, and came to understand the things above were not normal - or to be expected - they were just bad practice.

Two stars, not one?  The guys doing the move were friendly, polite and fast.  It just seems like they're not trained/expected to do the job very well.

I am the Facility Manager for Store & Secure at Houndmills and Basingstoke Moves have carried out several moves into store as well as out of store. The team are very professional and nothing is too much for them. The customers cannot say anything negative about these guys. When you are looking for a good team to look after your moving requirements then these are the guys to call.

Hopeless.  I asked them to come over and quote to move me - 4 weeks before moving date.  Someone came a few days later and went through everything with me and said they'd have a quote out in email within a few days.  
Several days passed and I heard nothing (by now I was -3 weeks to move date) so I called them.  They said they'd given my slot to someone else!   

I was left without a moving company with a short time before my move date.   When I finally did find another company able to move me at short notice, they said they'd had a number of calls from Basingstoke Moves 'clients' who had been similarly let down at the last minute.  

Absolutely appalling business practice. 

Do not recommend.
