Sadly, like many town centres, many shops are vacant & those that are filled are the same hair & beauty, fast food, charity & high street stalwarts. There's just not the retailers to encourage more visitors, and without more footfall, the town will be lost to high-rise residential buildings. More shops, more events, more reasons to be there & it'll thrive.nAt least we still have banks, a post office & Asda.
Very run down Basildon lots unemployed and homeless people drinking in town rough people with issues typing Essex place you wouldn't choose to live there
Good Service, I get the bus everyday from Laindon to Lakeside, All i need to do is get the 8 or 8A to Town Centre, then the 100 Service!!nSo Excellent and easy to get around
Very handy for the Eastgate centre.
What a truly horrible bus station that feels like it hasn't aged since the 90s and that's being generous. No bus maps, no live departures, buses departing from the wrong bus stops, bus drives not turning up for 30+ minutes, late departures, barely any seating, bird dirt everywhere. It's disgusting!nnIt links right next to the town centre and shopping centre and at least has shelter for all the bus stops too but really, that's all it has going for. Oh and there's a good variety of buses too. Disgusting bus station.
