I used Barry Ely Sports Cars for over ten years. Barry repaired and serviced my Lotus Elan MK2 M100 during this time with excellent results. I found Barry honest in his assessment of any unforeseen maintenance issues and pragmatic in dealing with mundane service problems. I absolutely trust his judgement, Barry always charged me a fair price for the work undertaken. I now live over 250 miles away otherwise I would continue to use his services.
Knows his stuff no doubt, however sadly I found him very difficult and hard to deal with when work he had done went wrong. Uncompromising and unwilling to accept responsibility for issues with the work, which is sad as my initial experience was positive, with my twin cam running very well after an initial major service. My second and third experience with him were not so. I would not use him again and would not recommend anyone to do so. He will not stand by his work, will be condescending, rude and difficult. I would research a little, i am not alone in this view point.
Car flipping company. Bought cars on collectingcars.com and flipping it on pistonheads.
He has looked after my two Lotus cars for some years one of which he sold to me. Extremely knowledgeable and always delivers first class work.
Barry has been taking care of my car for 15 years.
Drives a hard bargain but sold me a fantastic Elise
