A lovely park, well maintained, very clean and well cared for, a contrast to parks we have local to us. If you're in the area it's worth a visit,
A lovely place to visit. Clean, tidy well kept park with beautiful trees, flowers and a scenic well maintained lake. There's a pretty nursery with colouful, bright flowers, plants and a water fountain. Plenty of benches to sit and read or have a picnic. Great place for all the family. Wonderful views and great walks. Relaxing walks, peaceful and quiet. Nice place for a summer picnic or an autumn walk on a crisp morning. Plenty of parking and a café pavilion with bathroom facilities. Playground: Playground for children Restrooms: Clean tidy restrooms Picnic area: Lovely place for a picnic and a walk
Really nice park! First thing we saw, when we entered, was the statue to remember soldiers/victims of WWII. Very impressive. Walking down all the stairs, there was a nice surrounding to play for the kids, to sit around, to sport fitness, to walk around water, ect. Really complete park to have a great day. I love the silence when I am in the park, eventough there is a lot of traffic on the streets around. Playground: Really nice for children! Restrooms: Nothing fancy, but it is there. Is almost a must, with al the children playing there
I visited Barrow Park as it is the location for Barrow parkrun. I was really impressed by how well the park is maintained, with well planted flowerbeds and we'll kempt grass. I didn’t see any dog poo on the paths, and there was very little litter. The bandstand is a great base for the parkrun to start and finish, and I has a nice cup of tea afterwards in Cafe Pavilion.
Nice place to visit and not far from town centre. Plenty of benches, if you wish to read a book on a sunny day or evening. Playground and skateboard Park seem nice.
Despite visiting Cumbria for almost 20 years, I have only just discovered Barrow Park. Safe to say we love it! It’s really good to have a wander round, the play park has been loved by my children, the greenhouse is beautiful, we had way too many slushies and my partner was like a child at Christmas getting to see and ride the miniature steam train. We definitely recommend going here and we can’t wait to come back!
Tough but enjoyable parkrun in the morning followed by ice cream in the cafe afterwards. My children loved the play area after and I wished I was their age again as well. The putting green looked good as well, shame I didn't have time to play. Plenty of parking on the road outside the park too, a lovely park to spend time in.
Barrow Park is a fairly big park that incorporates a lot of variety as in, it has a very good, soft floored park with plenty for younger ones to do. It has bowling greens, it has boating lake, it has a little train ride, it has a massive variety of trees and plants and wildlife. It has easy cycle /walkways, crazy golf and a nursery all of its very own with tropical plants and fountain inside. And I will of even forgot things of that list. It's a lovely place to visit.
Massive beautifully maintained grounds. Perfect little Caffè with a selection of different ice creams including cocunut. They put whipped cream and hot chocolate on your hot chocolate. Very beautiful memorial. Ad the playground for kids is very giid bird feed for 50p a bag in the cafe if you want to feed the birds near the lake. Perfect trip out. Playground: Big selection for small and big kids Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly park Picnic area: Benches all around cafe and in playground to eat
Lovely place lots to visit. Pretty lake and well kept gardens. We saw swans, geese, ducks and squirrels. Loads of space to play and explore with dogs and children.
