Having read, with interest all the negative reviews regarding the service from the Barrhead Health Center, I would like to add some positive feedback !nI joined this practice after moving to Barrhead and can honestly say; “ I have only ever received a fast efficient service, from both the front desk reception staff, to the numerous Practitioners I have consulted.nI would also like to draw to the attention of those individuals who experience frustration at obtaining an appointment, that the 8.30am phone calls for appointments was adopted, mainly due to patients failing to attend for their allocated appointments, which obviously created unnecessary costs.nI therefore feel obliged to commend all the staff within the Barrhead Health Center, as their positions, can and often be very stressful at peak times !nMoral of this story … ?nGive them a break, they are only trying to earn a living by providing a GREAT SERVICE !
Further to my review with a complaint, the Practice Manager contacted me personally to resolve and organized an appointment with the ANP.nnThe ANP identified issues and I am feel more secure in that my health complications are in the right hands to resolve.nnThe ANP was excellent in their handling of it and immediately identified the complications from medication as well as organising another physical health test.
I am writing this on behalf of my sister who has been immensely mistreated by hospital staff at this facility. My sister has been in the facility for over a week and dispite doctors orders being that she remains in the hospital to heal from severe influenza with arthritis and two slipped discs in her spine. I have never seen my sister so sick, she is 25 and currently using a walker and was completely fine before a random intense sickness and pain took over her two weeks ago. This time has been incredibly hard for our family as we all live at least 3 hours away from her it has been heart wrenching having to care from a distance. She has two young children my whole family has been trying our best to take care of. Nurse staff has consistently gaslit my sister making their opinion that they believe my sister is faking all her systems in order to stay in the hospital very well known. The worst part is that it is mother’s day, my sister is so tired of being in the hospital but is desperately fighting to get better to get home to her babies. On this mother’s day nurse Terryl stated that she does not believe there is anything wrong with my sister. On a day that is so hard to be alone in the hospital away from your babies. I wish I could say this is the only instance where my sister has been mistreated during her hospital stay but it is not. A large amount of hospital staff have made their negative opinions towards my sister known. Which also includes saying she is there to access prescription drugs. My sister has never had drug problems nor does she even take prescription painkillers before this instance. I have begged my sister to let me complain directly to the staff but she is scared the mistreatment will get worse. I hope whoever deals with their staff makes it known that being a health provider means you treat everyone in your care. This is also not her first hospital she has been at through this ordeal, she was originally at Stoney plain then transferred to Barhead for more intense care. She would have never been transferred or recommended to remain in the hospital if nothing was wrong. I hope the nursing staff reads this and decides a career change, they obviously are not cut out for health care if she cannot control her emotions and remain neutral through their job. I hope no one has to go through this mistreatment again. She has been mistreated by EMS, Stoney plain hospital and now Barhead. Our healthcare system is failing if this is how we treat young people when they need help.
Having only attended 2 GP appointments with the Glennifer Medical Practice since moving to Barrhead, I can already recommend that those seeking mental health assistance register with another practice if at all possible. Dr Downey was rude, dismissive and clearly couldn't wait to end the appointment regarding restarting anti-depressant medication. He advised that there was no in-house mental health pathway in which to refer patients to counselling etc. so advised I seek this via an external organisation. 2nd appointment with Dr O'Donoghue was similar. Never in my life have I had my diagnosis called into question prior to this appointment and she very reluctantly referred me to treatment for a condition which an NHS psychiatrist has already diagnosed and treated me for over a number of years. Disgusting level of care. Reception staff have always been pleasant to deal with in my experience. I would like to think the GPs at this practice have their conduct looked into but I doubt this will happen.
I want to know why when uou take an unwell infant into see the gp, being distressed enougas unwell, is then checked over, which is completed understandable, throat , ears chest, etc doc then calls in another doctor to carry out all the exact same observation child is now in a severely distressed state being sick due to prodding now for 50 minutes then be sent to the hospital , due the distressed state.. wasn't in a distressed state on arrival a doctors, all the 50 minute caused it..?.?. Why a junior gp and then again same prodding with another gp??? And not advised beforehand will see a junior doc first and then a doctor again!!! You should have the choice given this is an infant .. distressed and unwell enough, enough without added mire stress on, 50minutes of this!! COMPLAINT BEING.MADE About THIA PRACTICE , why is dic not sitting with the junior, instead of all this having to be repeated??? Causing distress to infant patient.. it is not good practice at all.. and I will making sure this is looked into.
