I stayed with my family at this beautifully appointed and well maintained property which offers endearing views of Strangford Lough silhouetted by the Mourne Mountains and constantly changing vignettes of the tidal waters.  You have your own beach and meandering country lanes right in your face.  Dough & Maureen were the most perfect hosts offering valuable local information & obviously concerned and excited about their guests comfort and tourism needs.  We booked all the cottages for our family stay and with small children the location proved to be safe and secure. It is in a perfect location for any Canadian to enjoy the rural appeal of Northern Ireland. The affordable ferry ride across the lough from Portaferry offers the visitor access to the southern part of Co. Down and another way to enjoy the short drive to Belfast if you make it past the countless points of interest and romantic ocean views and countryside. The Barr Hall Barns are a little jewel  set into the crown of Royal Down, the property has some heritage appeal which you are free to investigate and be surprised with.  Dough & Maureen pointed us to local points of interest so numerous we didn't make them all.  We had rain for most of our 2 weeks but our wonderful accommodation and location didn't prevent our party of 11 from exploiting the most romantic part of the world knowing that each evening we would come back to the  comfort and relaxation of Barr Hall Barns.  Our next trip will without dispute or hesitation involve Barr Hall Barns and our charming hosts Dough & Maureen who will professionally take your booking and secure your trip.
