Had my Dads 60th birthday here yesterday and paid for private dining. The private dining was in a room with other private diners who weren’t part of our party - to which was quite disappointing as we paid £20 a head deposit and we expected to be in a room on our own. The room was off the main restaurant so was a bit more secluded but not what we expected. Nether the less it was such a fab experience. Our server Adam was so fantastic and so attentive and well mannered. The food was delicious and the entertainment was great. Shame about the private dining, I would potentially look at changing the name/description of what is included but other than that we had a great experience and my father had an amazing birthday Thank you
Great atmosphere, extremely good service. Food tasted fantastic, chicken wings and steak were really good! My wife had a selection of the vegetarian food, vegan vibes burger and broccoli tempura, she too thought the food was great. Excellent selection of rums which is our preferred drinks, so again very happy. Will definitely be returning again, nice to have something decent local to us as well.
Beautifully restored & decorated listed building with lovely roaring fire and plenty of bar & restaurant space without feeling hemmed in. Service was fantastic & food was lovely. I was totally happy with my choice of starter & main but my friend was disappointed with hers especially for the price paid. We were told we only had the table for 2 hours, yet there were empty tables around us, and in fact no-one came to move us so seemed rather pointless to be told, especially if they didn't actually have full bookings! We also had cocktails in the bar which were lovely but very pricey at £13! Shame as its likely to only be a special occasion place to visit rather than a regular haunt, since we left feeling a little shocked at the size of the bill!
Well, what can one say about this place other than wonderful? The ambience was fantastic and the food was even better. The service was excellent and led by Jack. The whole place has been transformed into luxury. The food is excellent and this place is well worth a visit. If I am going to be critical about the place, which I am about all places I visit and give my review on, is the price of soft drinks, there is expensive and then there is this wonderful restaurant, someone will need to explain how you can charge £4.20 for a Coke. Rum or a pint of lager is only £5, you can save 20p if you prefer Diet Coke at £4, but that in my eyes and my opinion is just a crazy price. Other than the cost of soft drinks the place is fantastic, and you will have a fantastic time with excellent food and great service. I do know that very soon they will be bringing out a new menu and hopefully, they will address the ridiculous prices on soft drinks as it does hinder people who have to drive there or want to take their children and have a family meal out.
We visited Courts for a birthday. The venue is lovely the staff were great and on the night they had a DJ in and she was superb. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food looked lovely. Most of my party loved their food and I enjoyed mine to a point. The steak was cold and I know I like mine medium rare but it was cold in the centre also the tasters we had there wasn’t much to them. However a few had the lamb and they raved about it. The dirty burger looked amazing and it it the person who had couldn’t finish it. If I was to offer any opinion it would be sort out the tasters as they were disappointing
Superb! Amazing experience, food was fantastic, 3 for £20 on starters and was perfect for 3 even for two. We all had the dirty burger and was done excellently. Cocktails were refreshing and perfectly mixed. Service was fantastic. All round 10/10.
Called in on an off-chance for Sunday lunch. It was the best Sunday lunch experience I've had in a long time. I chose the lamb, which was full flavoured, and cooked to perfection. I had a side of pigs in blankets. Vegetables are served separately, and extra gravy and cauliflower cheese were provided. The staff are polite and helpful, and the background music was not too loud, and perfectly suited the atmosphere.
Had a lovely experience in Courts for lunch this Saturday. We were seated upstairs. Courts itself is a beautiful building, tastefully decorated. We had a warm welcome and staff couldn’t do enough for us. The food was lovely and reasonably priced - two courses for £21.95. We chose different options and each dish was just tasty and delicious. We will definitely visit again. Thank you!
Nice place for fine dining. The ambience is good. Our server was friendly too! I had a vegan burger and it was delicious unlike vegan burgers served at other restaurants. My parents went for chicken wings, which were meaty and flavourful. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available and accomodated!
I had high expectations & heard amazing things about this place. The decor is absolutely beautiful & they staff were friendly! But the food was such a disappointment : we had the Sunday roast & the lamb was so fatty! We got told it was unfortunately the cut for that day & that next time we come the cut of lamb will be better..no sure how :/
