The building is quite new.The staff are very friendly and helpful.The library is open until 9.30pm Monday-Thursday and closes at 5pm Friday and Saturday.The adult library is upstairs and is accessed by stairs and lift.The lift is fairly small;it will take a wheelchair or smaller mobility scooter but not the larger Quingo scooters.The children's library is on the ground floor and adult books can also be renewed or returned here.The book selection is not as extensive as it used to be;a lot of older books have been sold off.On the other hand,they regularly acquire new books and books can be requested from other libraries.There are computers available on both floors with time booked at the desk. The Barking Learning Centre is also the home of the Citizen's Advice Bureau,a small exhibition space(both on the ground floor) and meeting rooms,where visiting authors give talks,on the 1st floor.
