Super retail shop, huge choice at competitive prices. Nice efficient knowledgeable staff in a friendly comfortable store. Had just what we were looking for so had to buy it, a lovely piece of furniture with superior quality.

I don’t know why am I having a bad experience in this store one in Giltbrook shopping park Ilkeston First time I’ve ordered the complete bedroom furniture I had to wait for 8 months I’m talking about before pandemic when I did received  my items it came wrong and I had to wait for the part another six months. The manager of this shop said sorry next time we will give you a gift voucher or if you purchase anything we will give good discount that was pure lie. I went today which I didn’t wanted but we got the wardrobe from them we need matching one there were no sales person the we found she was sitting on one of the bed and she didn’t even bothered to stand up she was sat down and talked to us plus she had an attitude as well we asked the price and style she didn’t even bothered to show us just sat there with an attitude hope this is my last time go to this shop never again in my life.

Went in store looking for sofas, staff not welcoming, one male member of staff busy chatting with his partner on the phone on the store floor, in work time, completely oblivious to the fact there are customers in store. A complete contrast from the rest of the sofa stores there all of which were very helpful and welcoming. Apalling service, we decided to leave and will be purchasing from one of the other stores instead. If you are making a trip to go here I wouldnt bother, as we travelled 30 miles to be very disappointed.

Bought a bed, bedside tables, mattress, 3 arm chairs, sofa and coffee table from here this year. Sales staff I dealt with were excellent, just let down by the rest of the company unfortunately.  The sofa arrived with a broken frame at the bottom, and coffee table had rust on it. The sofa is a little more excusable, but rust on a brand new coffee table just isn't. Do they have nobody checking items before they are sent out for delivery? Rejected them both and am perusing a refund so I can buy elsewhere, and certainly would think twice before buying anything from here again.

If you want unique furniture with a twist then this is the place can be expensive but some great stuff well worth the visit

Visited for the first time recently after a trip to IKEA and was very surprised. The style of furniture is just what we've been looking for to furnish our home and we finally found the sofa we've been looking for after giving up the search after a year! Lesley helped us along the way and we noticed that she welcomed every person that stepped into the store with a smile! Keep up the great work and thank you.

Poor quality and high prices. Purchased a high end Super-King bed frame for £1400 +Mattress at another £2500 and over time we found the design and build to be flawed with a huge headboard and huge padded  base board simply held by two wood screws into MDF which has powdered and loosened the screws leaving the whole bed wobbling. B&S won’t accept responsibility and repair or replace. My advice. Don’t buy from this company they are buying cheap and selling high and if you really must buy them do it on a credit card and not debit card so you have some decent consumer protection

Hi there,  To whoever reads this review please take it seriously as I have never received such disappointing service before. This is actually the very first bad google review that I have ever written. Their stores look beautiful but that is it I’m afraid. I’ve spent nearly £3,500 with Barker and Stonehouse and wish I hadn’t. Here is my experience.  1. The delivery guys simply dumped my dining room table and couldn’t be bothered to install it as agreed in store. They dumped it. Pic attached. I live on my own and cannot lift up a solid oak table on my own. Also it’s not your everyday tools required to put it together. I had to give up another afternoon off work so that they could come back and assemble it. 2. 4 out of the other 6 items which were delivered that day were damaged. Rather than send replacements, they sent somebody round to just touch it up with paint. Shocking considering this is brand new furniture. One of the problems is a dining table bench which clearly has not been lacquered in the same way as the other bench. This has been confirmed from the furniture specialist they sent round who agreed something’s not right. I have not heard anything back from Barker and Stonehouse on this matter. 3. I am missing 4 metal prongs which should have come with the shelving unit I ordered. These are to support the shelf. On the phone, they surprisingly had no idea which ones I needed and I’ve been sent the wrong ones twice. I still have not received them. 4. Also, one of the items that was initially delivered was incorrect. They sent me a replacement today and guess what…. it is damaged. Pic attached.  This has been going on for weeks now and wasted 4 days off work so that I could be in for them to keep coming round and fixing their many mistakes. They are also very non-flexible with long distance deliveries even if you do only live 2 hours away!.  I really do urge you to NOT order from Barker and Stonehouse.

We have bought from here before Great service Good quality furniture It lasts well You pay abit more bit it's so worth it
