Good honest pub grub, there's something on the menu that everyone would like. There's meat free options as well so everyone can go. The only thing that is a bit of a pain is parking, there is a large carpark but you'll have to be patient as the area is a popular attraction. The server's seem to all be happy and have a good knowledge of the menu and are always on hand if you need anything. The food was well cooked and the portion size was fair. We were a party of five and we all left well fed and watered for £222! Outside there is disabled parking and wheelchair access as well as outside seating and an outside bar. This is a dog friendly pub and there is always water for your dog outside. It is advisable to book a table here as it's so popular. Overall I'll definitely be back.
Real old English pub. These places are perfect for getting a lovely lunch or dinner... Or breakfast. The pub has a classic look. Very cosy inside with lot of exposed wood beams. Food ..fish and chips.. portion side was very generous with the classic UK taste.. not to be missed if you have not tried before. Overall a great experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Always a pleasure to eat here. The menu has good old traditional English food. I had liver, bacon, mash and savoy cabbage. Cooked to perfection hearty meal and lovely tender meat. Mixed it up a little with 3 scoops of icecream 2 vanilla 1 chocolate choc sauce and strawberries. My friend had the vegan burger and mocha for afters. Plus they had a selection of hot drinks which can be rare in a pub these days Vegetarian options: A few vegeterian and vegan options available. Kid-friendliness: A few families were in there and there was a kids menu. Dietary restrictions: I asked for no seasoning on my liver and minus the red onion in my gravy and they were more than happy to accommodate this request.
Went for a full english breakfast, we were the only customers there, the breakfast was barely warm. There was a few flies bothering us while we were eating, one fly decided to land on my wife's fried egg and got stuck in it. They said there was nothing they could do about it, no offer of another breakfast because she was put off it and not even a sorry. We then realised why we were the only customers there. They need to invest in electronic fly killers.
Very wet day, the day we visited The Barge Inn. We were looking for somewhere dry to eat and be a dog friendly pub, and we weren't disappointed. Very friendly, warm, welcome by all staff thank you we only wanted some little to eat and only order a starter it was perfect great value for money cost of a Drive-through Burger place but much better. I'm looking forward to returning when the sun is out with plentiful outside sitting.
Went here for breakfast after I was recommended it. We were told we could sit anywhere and chose to sit next to the fire place. The pub is full of character with old photos on the wall and the barmaids was full of knowledge of the local area. We ordered eggs royal and the bacon and maple syrup pancake, Perfect poached eggs and hollandaise to die for and thick light fluffy pancakes served with a really good coffee latte and cappuccino. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. 5***** thank and will tell everybody about it
Visited here on a lovely sunny September day whilst visiting the antique shops. A really nice pub with lots of character, serving a decent selection of ales, wines etc. Although Green King IPA and Abbot were the only cask offerings. Plenty of tables to eat indoors but all reserved, but thankfully more space outdoors. Sunday Roast was very good - quality food, well cooked and big portions. Despite eating outside the food arrived piping hot. Pretty expensive, though. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience, exceeding my expectations.
Great food staff we're working really hard. Was a good place to go for haddock and chips. Very large amount of food. Dog friendly. Will be going back againFood: 5/5
I love this pub, we came across it from visiting the antiques center across the road. Friendly, accommodating staff. Food was absolutely fantastic. Its warm and cosy inside and dogs are also welcome which is a big bonus in my family.Food: 5/5
I ordered a GAMMON and chips with eggs, but was brought some cold ham. It was not gammon as described on the menu. The chips had an unsavoury taste of the cooking oil which clearly needed changing as it was old. The eggs were fine. Tables in the pub seemed sticky and dirty. The toilet I used had urine on the floor and wet toilet roll. Staff and service were good enough. Parking: Excellent parking next to pub.
