I’d just like to thank the two ladies who helped me with activating my mothers lasting power of attorney due to dementia on Monday . The bad situation I was put in was made a lot easier by the lady helping to rush it through and both ladies chatting to me ,bringing a brew and some biscuits. They did well to keep their cool when I was loosing my head with the bloody solicitor on the phone. I left there feeling a hell of lot better than when I walked in! Top marks and thank you .
Staff were great. Very helpful, but about a fortnight and still not got what they said I would. Not moved forward!! Back office or the post. Who knows. :
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was in to sort out a bank transfer to pay towards buying a new house. The transfer went through easy. The staff went through everything in great detail and made sure that everything was correct with the transfer. They did a great job and thanks for sorting it out for us.
I can't comment on the staff that work here, but a quick warning - this is a bank which will invest your money in climate-destroying industries like fossil fuels. They are the biggest investors in this industry of all European banks, which is totally irresponsible in a climate crises. I was shocked when I found out. It's very easy to switch to a more ethical bank and some of them even offer financial incentives you to join Nationwide, Co-op. If you're leaving them because of this news then please give them feedback that this is the reason why, they need to know.
Best bank in the world, i know some reviews on here or complaining like 1 an 3 years ago, but still? Get with the generation Jollyes Ashton sending a "FAX" really, either print it out an post or better yet, theirs a little something called E'mail am not surprised you had an hard time, i haven't seen a fax machine in like 15 years? I just wish they didn't do so much updating online, its like almost every weekend, but for all i know that could be security changes, which is good. so they get 5 stars.
Fantastic service, staff and manager are brilliant. I am a keyworker and needed to sort something urgently but online banking wasn't working so I went into the branch and they sorted it within minutes for me.
The Ashton team as a whole are good with a couple of rude exceptions but Barclays as a company are terrible. Glad I only have to deal with them through work and not as a personal banking customer.
The wait in this branch is unreal, every week I'm here to business bank and the wait is by far the worst I've ever seen in a Barclays Bank. Either more staff or open another desk up as you never use the 4th desk. The only plus are the pleasant staff.
what an absolute farce, all I wanted to do is send a fax to the branch in Ashton-U-Lyne, and after trying for the 6th time I tried to phone the branch to ask them to check that their fax machine was working, unfortunately some simpleton in the Barclays hierarchy has decided that there is no longer a requirement for a direct line to the branch so after another 10 minutes of pointless passing from one dept to another the line went dead , so I phoned again and so another 10 mins of my life that I will never get back is wasted just for the line to go dead again, so now after 25-30 mins of basically the worst customer service I have received in the last 10 years , I still haven't been able to send the fax that should have taken 30 seconds at the most and all the while I'm trying to run a business, I'm just glad I don't do my personal banking with this pointless sham of a bank,
