Happy with how my account was opened and they answered my many questions. Its usually...
On Saturday, it is basically just cash machines and paying in machines. There are friendly staff, but no counter service which is really inconvenient. Contrary to Google, counter service is Mon-Fri 9.30-2pm Weds 10-2pm Saturday not at all. Pretty much a useless bank
Extremely poor service. I needed to use the counter to pay money in. I am recovering from a spine and ankle injury and had to stand for 25 minutes. The woman at the counter is very slow, it is not the first time She has served me both times slow . Today after waiting 25 minutes It was finally my turn not even a "sorry for the wait" she just says "Card" after I said I would like to pay in money. Disgusting
Went to a Barclays and said they are closing down so Limited transactions go to another branch. Went to another branch in Rye Lane , I was told I need a F2F app. As i could not do what I wanted online, however I would need to phone customer services to make a F2F app. Phoned to be told in a 30m radius there's no app available from Dartford to peckham. !!.....Nonsense
Went to deposit a cheque. The machine said it was working then all of a sudden it stops working? My money was stuck in the machine so they had to send it through bank transfer instead.
Bad experience. Turned around the first time. Booked for two people and was told we only had a booking for one. Didn’t have the right documents after we had called ahead and followed the website directions. Disappointing experience.
Probably the most useless bank I’ve ever been in. I’ve never written a Google review, but felt compelled to after my experiences here. None of the staff have any idea whatsoever how to work in a bank. You ask a question and the disappear for 20 minutes and then come back and tell you something that completely contradicts the policy of every other Barclays Bank in the country. The staff are rude, incompetent, and completely overwhelmed with the demand of customers.
They are trying to phase out face to face banking… massive shop with 3 counters and maybe 8 machines… only ever 1 counter working for a couple of hours a day and many machines not working, for such a huge place they only ever have maybe 3 staff on who are stretched to the limit and understandably cannot be arsed. Always massive queues of elderly people or people for whom English is not their first language so they want the counter as are afraid of or cannot use the machines. Today the machine took my card and money as I tried to pay in. I waited 30 mins to get my card back and at time of writing I’m still waiting for a call from them 5 hours later about the £200 that was ‘swallowed’ by the machine. I should of known better than to start my week with a trip to Peckham Barclays, I wouldnt wish the place on my worst enemy. If you look up soul destroying in the dictionary there will be a picture of this branch.
Typical abysmal Barclays service. Website not up to date so turn up to get cash out and they’ve decided not to open the counter this Saturday, despite normally opening Saturdays. Then rude staff except for 1. Poster below says it all.
This was by far, the worst customer service experience of my life. This branch MUST be closed down IMMEDIATELY. First I was told to go into the wrong line, I waited in this line for about twenty minutes until I was told to stand in a different line where I waited for TWO HOURS, meanwhile disarray, arguing and violence occurred in almost all parts of the line. It was terrifying. Once I FINALLY got inside to meet with the cashier to deposit a foreign check, he nonchalantly informed me that the branch ran out of the form that must be filled out. I asked are there any solutions? can you print one off? can you have another one emailed or faxed to you? He simply said no you can visit another branch all other branches were closed at the time. The people who work at this branch are completely incompetent to say the least. Barclays has to either come in and completely change the employee and methods of management in this branch or it is better of shut down.
Fantastic customers service experienced here when I visited the Peckham branch, the official that attended to me was completely helpful and understanding too. Brilliant
