Ordered the set that cost 25euros bites + main + drink I ordered the chairman pork. Was happy to see it being well presented but was left disappointed immediately. Unfortunately, other than the edamame and the pork belly, the rice and egg were cold and not fresh at all? The rice was cold and super dry, like it was left overnight and it was served. The eggs were cold. I had better expectations but was left disappointed.
Great bun and popcorn chicken filling as well as the well balanced sauce and spicing. Comfy interior. Welcome relief from a week of Irish breakfasts LOL just kidding maybe ..
It's a cute space while they offer 5 tables to dine in. The chicken bao tastes better than their classic bao.
Tasty, affordable, casual, friendly. A couple of veggie options tofu bao and a omelette bao for example. Some of their items were out-of-stock when we arrived like the duck bao and crispy chicken bao. It wasn't busy on a Friday evening. It is very casual inside. The €30 meal deal for 4 baos & a drink would be enough for 2 people. If you're extra hungry, maybe 10 gyozas on the side would suffice. The pork belly bao was my favourite and then the omelette second. One small criticism would be the fact that the bao buns were wet when served. I would've liked if they were dry to touch/hold. The wetness, presumably from condensation after being steamed, made them a bit more messy. The gyozas were also a little bit on the wet side too.
EDITED: Just avoid the Zen ramen. Get just the meats. To be absolutely fair, the gyoza, yakiniku beef and stewed pork were great. For a Bao specialty restaurant, I should have probably ordered a Bao. Ramen Toppings: the pork was good. Would order that again. Noodles were of the thin variety but had either too much of an alkaline taste. Left an overall bad aroma to it. Soup broth was very bland even though miso was expected to be used. Overwhelming use of pickled ginger killed the broth. Price was steep for ramen quality at 16.80. Would probably be okay with noodle and soup was better. Ordered for takeaway. Service was friendly. Restaurant atmosphere was a bit off, weird mix of Taiwanese, korean, japanese decor. For the protein/rice bowls, a bit too much sauce was drizzled on the eggs and green so it was overall too salty. Dine-in Rice was especially hard and dry too.
Soup noodle with beef and tofy was amazing Am garment bao was absolutely delicious Mochi is unusual and tasty too. Many thanks for Jin and colegues! I wish you many good clients! Vegetarian options: Am garment bao
Very down the middle experience here. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Ordered the pork bao which was absolutely delicious. The fat rendered great and it was super crispy. Had I just ordered this it would have been 5 out of 5. I also ordered the pepper chicken, which I thought would be some nice crispy pieces of chicken thigh or a breast. Instead, what I got was 10 miserable pieces of small chicken popcorn which were cooked in an air fryer. As a big fan of air fryers my issue isn't with that, but more with the fact that they were overcooked and felt like I was eating frozen chicken and paid 7 quid for them. Really dulled the meal. With other Bao places around, I can't understand why they'd be making sub par non bao food if they can't do it well, as I have read from other reviews there are more complaints about their non bao food.
Very tasty, the bao buns were a little big and over priced though, I think it would be better to even do smaller ones and charge less, I went to a good place in uk that only charged €2 for small ones so you ordered more and it felt like you were getting more. Very friendly staff though
I came to do some work. Personal very friendly and they were so kind. Food is great, I came few months ago and they change everything, now is more clean and organise. I Will definetly come back!!
Absolutely gorgeous bao buns and a good meal deal to try a few different buns out with friends. The homemade lemonade is delicious and the young lad serving us was really friendly and attentive. Been coming here ever since I moved to Dublin and can't recommend this place enough for a cozy dinner or a good takeaway.
