Story

Bangkok Bay Battersea is a family run Thai restaurant, owned by a Thai/New Zealand couple and is soon entering its 30th year of operation. Several names and owners later, we're still bringing authentic Thai food to Battersea.

******* We NO LONGER offer BYO. This was due to a (albeit small) number of BYO customers who were both verbally and physically aggressive to our staff and customers ******

Open 7 days a week, and Wednesday - Sunday for lunch too, you will find a warm welcome from our friendly staff.

Came here with a friend, it was my first time. Food was so good and the portions were so big! Really loved the thick dipping sauce for the crackers. The sea bass and the sauce it came in was to die for! It was just all amazing! Would recommend!

My wife and I were discussing dinner options after a long drive home after visiting an elderly relative. After a staycation of eating every cuisine but Thai this was the last piece of the puzzle to round off our bank holiday. We were very close to going to Rosa’s the tried and tested option, however we stumbled across Bangkok Bay and after finding out all the meat is halal and surface level due diligence we decided to try this place. We ordered two stir fries of mushroom, ginger, onion and more with chicken and another with beef. Both were tremendously bland. We had reach for our chilli flakes, salt, pepper and even garlic granules to lift this disappointing dish. I had a bad feeling immediately upon seeing the dishes as they were in a watery sauce as if it was meant to be a curry, not something you expect with a stir fry. The sesame toast was also poor but I expected this at this point, but the duck spring rolls were actually quite good. Overall a disappointing experience but not the end of the world. We move.
I’ve been in multiple time and the food is always good everytime. I haven’t been during a large rush so it is somewhat quiet when I come which is very nice. But it’s definitely one of the more authentic places I’ve been to so far in London. Everyone who works here is really nice and the owner is absolutely lovely and interested in me as a customer.
We had the best evening here. The food was so so good. Every dish was full of love and complex flavours. The service was good. The staff warm and welcoming. This cosy restaurant is a hidden gem.Food: 5/5
