If you’re a traveler, expect to get no help here.nnMy doctor at home advised me to get a follow-on antibiotic for a fairly urgent issue because I won’t be back in my home country for 5 days. I waited 3 hours at this general practice, only to be told they won’t help me and I should try at another town on my journeys. This is impossible I am on a guided group tour and don’t get into towns until 5 or 6 pm when everything is already closed; today was my only chance which I told them, but just got a shrug - didn’t care, not their problem. I told them they are basically forcing me to cancel my tour, and again, didn’t care.nnI wasted 3 hours of my vacation today sitting in a hospital waiting room for no reason, and now I need to decide whether to cancel my trip and lose £100s, or possibly get a severe infection…?
Outstanding on all counts. ED staff worked miracles on my wife with a cardiac issue. Kudos to all, physicians, nursing staff, clerical staff and even student nurses! You punch way above your weight!
My wife said she was seen quickly, looked after well and reassured. The hospital contacted me to pick her up telling me there was no rush. We are both very thankful we have access to such a good service.
HinnMy experience at the emergency room is terrible. I've arrived with a head injury, open bleeding wound above my left eye. I've been sitting in the waiting room for more than three hours now, with my wound open, dripping blood and no one has yet to see me. It isn't busy here on this ward so it's impossible to even comprehend why no one would attend to my injury. Anyway, I got terribly hungry so if no one calls for me soon I'll just leave and go eat, bleeding with my open wound and I'll make sure others know how incompetent NHS here is. I see no reason to waste time here anymore, obviously no one is keen of doing what they're paid for. Yet again I'm completely disappointed by the NHS, some things never change.
Had an appointment today. The deep snow which fell last night had been cleared so everyone could park and access the hospital. Huge effort. Thank you guys
