This store used to be a lot bigger.nIt's now cut its premises in half, and another business is in the second half.nThe store has a trade collection point.nIt also still has an outdoor area, plenty of wood, diy items, plants, and indoor homeware.nThere are self-serve tills as well as personal operation tills.nIt is still a pleasure to visit with moderate selection, but not anywhere as good as it used to be.
Dear B&Q Customer Service,nnI am writing to express my disappointment regarding an experience I had with a staff member named Russ at your store.nnRuss’s attitude was rude and condescending. When I politely pointed out that his tone was inappropriate, he responded with, “Shall we take a time out?”—a remark that I found dismissive and unprofessional. I was genuinely shocked that a shop assistant would speak to a customer in such a manner.nnAs a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, and this experience fell far short of the standard I associate with B&Q. I hope this matter will be addressed so that no other customers are made to feel the same way.nnSincerely,nRyan Read
This once popular retailer has gone down hill, never much stock even if the website tells you they have something in stock doesn't mean they will have it in stock and if they do it will be at a much elevated price!.... Staff are terribly lacking in customer service skills in fact they are quite rude and have no want to sell you anything, they are quite illiterate about most products. You are better off going to another retailer who will have stock, good customer service and actually want to sell to you or just go online.
Had such bad customer service here today. Firstly we asked a member of staff if they had a certain flower. We got told to seach it on the website! Then we was on the bathroom section. Several members of staff were just leaning on a desk in the middle. We approached them to ask where a certain product was. A lad reluctantly just pointed to where we might fund it, two places and went back to leaning on his desk!!!! What had happened to good customer service??!!?? Feeling disappointed :
I’ve always shopped at B&Q for my work needs, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. I purchased a £90 Ryobi drill, and after just a week of use, the switch started malfunctioning. Since I needed a working drill immediately, I bought another one elsewhere and later returned to B&Q to request a refund for the faulty one.nnTo my surprise, they refused. The store assistant told me that “customers tend to buy items, use them for their work, and return them”—as if that had anything to do with my case.nnThey checked the drill and claimed it was fine, despite me demonstrating the faulty switch. Instead of honoring their 90-day return policy, they told me to contact the manufacturer and sort it with them.nnIf that’s the case, then what’s the point of buying from B&Q in the first place? If I have to deal with the manufacturer for a faulty item, I might as well buy directly from them or another retailer with better customer service.nnThis experience was frustrating and a waste of everyone's timen. I wasn’t trying to scam them.nI just wanted a fair refund for a defective product. Won’t be shopping here again.
