Hugely disappointed and I will be reporting them to the financial ombudsman. I changed my profession midway through an insurance policy so contacted Autonet to make them aware of this change. I was informed by the call centre that there would be no increase in my premiums but I would occur a one off admin charge of £39.50 to cover the 2 minutes it took her to change the information on the policy and send me an email. I wasn’t happy with this charge so asked her to cancel the policy with immediate effect. She told me “This isn’t necessary” and then after me explaining it’s my choice to cancel the police she pretended to transfer me but then cut the call off. I was busy at the time so didn’t return the call. After all it’s not my job to ask for charges I feel are excessive to be made by me. I received an email with an attached pdf from autonet stating there would be no charge for this change in circumstances. Then today I noticed an email I’d received explaining the insurance company had used my direct debit agreement to increase my premiums to cover the charge they put on me. I will be cancelling my policy with this company first thing Monday morning but felt I’d air my views in the for of a review while I’m outraged.
Clown show. Clearly the kind of company where heads are for decoration only. Cancel a policy with email confirmation a month before renewal and they renew it anyway and then threaten you with debt collectors. Get passed about round the office when you ring them up. Embarassing.
Wasted two and half hours of my time pick another company. Communication was a shambles, Call centre in Africa as there customer service line.
Been insuring my vehicle with Autonet for 3 years but after this years renewal price I have decided to go elsewhere. Renewal price was an increase of £38 per month making it £106 per month although you will insure me for £51 per month according to comparison sites with exactly the same details as discussed customer service over the phone earlier today. I have found a great deal at £32 per month elsewhere!!! Since being with autonet my insurance has always increased every year! How about look after loyal customers instead of screwing us over!! You have lost my custom and won't be using you again.
In order to change my address I had to speak to EIGHT different people over the course of an hour. Each more incompetent than the last. I wouldn’t insure my vehicle with this company again if it was less than £1 a year. Avoid.
Absolutely shocking company. One of the most incompetent companies I have ever dealt with professionally ever. Took me over 2 weeks to try and pay my insurance and still no resolution they say finance company needs payment finance company say they need accept payment. No one has a clue. Absolute Shambles avoid at all costs!!!!
Absolute headache of an insurance company avoid at all costs. Even when you tell them you dont want auto renew to take place they put you on hold for forever and because it doesnt suit them they hang up the phone after requesting proof of ncd. Would never re insure with these
Absolutely no fair play. Cancellation polisy is impossible, I was call to close my policy bcs I change car. They looked only own business, to charge me how much possible, like thifs. Horrible insurance company. Near back to them.
My husband can’t even remember having a policy with this company. The house they say he had a policy on was four years and two house moves ago. They sent a letter today stating he owed £80 cancellation fees and they’d passed the debt on to another company. Surely they would have charged him these fees at the point of cancellation otherwise how could he have cancelled in the first place? Now the first time he’s hearing about it is four years later, via a debt collection agency-letter. This smells like a scam, but as we’re looking to get a mortgage soon, he had no choice but to pay it rather than fight it. AVOID THIS COMPANY
Absolutely horrible company to deal with. I’m only giving one star because there’s no zero or minus options. My wife had an accident when she drove into the driveway and hit our second car, we only claimed damage on the second car but auto net insisted it was two separate claims. Her insurance then auto renewed and they cancelled it a few days later due to not informing them about the accident even though they already knew about it. After investigating they admitted it was a bit unfair and kindly offered to restore the policy at £820 when it had previously been £230ish I was livid with this company and implore you to go anywhere but them for insurance. I was just constantly going round in circles with them.
