After spending a fortune at the food fair (which is excellent i have to say) took a guided tour of the castle. At the minute it's having a total overhaul with scaffolding covering whole of outside and inside gutted. But on the tour they explain what is happening and all the new finds they've discovered like the old tudor walls. Will have to come again after they've spent millions! Should look amazing. They're also building a faith museum and garden

Visited the food festival lots of very good artisan food stall great day out. Saturday was too busy for my liking due to have to get through crowds with pushchair so didn't see quite a lot of the stalls. Otherwise a great day out.

Great place to go walking and running, the castle looks amazing and is full of historical information for visitors. Castle ground are huge and definitely worth a look. 
A walk along the river in the grounds is great on those hot days!

Great place to visit. Lots of history so great place to visit if you enjoy history. Staff are very friendly and happy. Lots of events for families and things like cross country running throughout the year. 

Unfortunately there are renovations taking place at the moment so not all of the castle is accessible but I'm sure it will be amazing when it's done.

There was wine tasting, beer tasting,  Fairtrade food, honey wildflower, heather honey, food stalls, live chef cooking. I seen Martin Pratt from Corrie at the food festival. We ate in Witherspoons and sat in the beer garden, the first time for me in a beer garden at 49.
