This is an excellent GP practice - from the reception staff, auxiliary staff, to the doctors - all are exceptionally caring and helpful. They have provided a consistently high standard of care throughout some very difficult circumstances. My wife and I are very grateful for the support we have both received over recent years.
Almost every member of staff I have ever interacted with in the surgery is amazing. We’ll always tell everyone how lucky we are to live next to such amazing doctors.nnIn particular the doctor that we have seen from the beginning of my wive’s HG has been amazing. From following and fundraising for Pregnancy sickness support I have learned a lot of stories of peoples experiences with this illness. We were very fortunate to have such an incredible doctor from the beginning. She had such a positive effect on our lives whilst going through this.,nnI do have some feedback for just one individual. A midwife who I think was Australian. Back in one of our earlier midwife appointments whilst wife was suffering from HG my wife was asked how she was doing mentally. She responded that she was fine but that I was struggling. She told “he doesn’t matter right now”. I carried on plugging away, coming home taking care of her and the house, doing a surprising amount of pharmacy tours to find the one who had the right medication in stock and watching my wife unable to even watch tv due to her illness. All the while I didn’t feel I could be anxious about it so just stufffed it down because “I’m not important right now”nnEventually it did get too much and I started having daily panic attacks. Firstly in private and then very public ones in supermarkets a then in the middle of a meeting at work in front of all my colleagues.nnI believe that this midwife holds some responsibility for the deterioration of my mental health and I just wanted to pass on the feedback in hope that it could inform her future practice with fathers.nnAll the other midwives we had have been amazing. Eventually when I broke down in tears in another appointment with another midwife that I was having panic attacks and was worried that me being having these around my wife could be stressful for her. She told me that my mental health does matter.
Admin staff are incompetent and liars. After 7 months of excuses I still don’t have my medical report I requested. Along the way, I got denials, contradictions and rude responses. Admin staff fabricated issues and not cooperated with my insurer. I even got told how dare I be ungrateful for a service they get money for, quote : “ you do realise this is a paid service “ how is that a response beats me. My insurer is paying them money!nGetting a GP or nurse appointment is a lottery. Outdated phone-in system where you have to keep dialling and hope for the best, no queue system! They surgery still pulling covid measure excuses where other GP surgeries manage to do some face to face appointments.
The doctors and nurses are generally kind and professional in this surgery. Unfortunately you have to get past the ring in the morning and hope you get an answer process. The next hurdle is actually getting an appointment.nnMy biggest problem is the dogs. I am allergic to them. I have complained to the reception staff and was basically rudely told to consider going somewhere else . I think they've forgotten that they are supposed to be offering a public service which is supposed to promote the health of their patients. I feel that they increase my feelings of stress which is not helpful.
Easy to get an appointment if you need one. Even if you can't, you can pop in Monday morning before 10 and get seen before 12. Reception staff are all very nice. Most doctors except one elder male dr which I only saw twice about two years ago whose name is not on the staff list are very kind, caring and professional. Giving really helpful advice for our health problems. The nurse are all great too! Best GP I have had in my nearly 20 years of living in the UK.
