The second time we have stayed! Very clean rooms and nice pub food on site with great parking facilities. The shower could have been a bit more powerful but a minor point! Once again we were looked after by Anne Brown, the very friendly and hardworking Receptionist come everything! Her customer service skills are exceptional and nothing is too much! A lovely stay again.
Was staying here for 2 weeks on a business trip. The rooms were just the perfect size with sufficient amount of space. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are small but clean and well maintained. All basic amenities are available in the room, and the room has a certain old and classy feeling to it. The overall hotel has a character to it, which makes it better to stay. The food was absolutely the best, the breakfast, the dinner in the pub just below the hotel. To help with all these Anne from the hotel just makes your stay more comfortable and pleasant, such a sweet and helpfull lady. Anne had explained all the details, technicalities and every other details in hotel and also had helped whenever anything was required. Rooms: Beautiful, sufficient enough space, lovely amenities, and perfect for a small stay. Walkability: Lidl, aldi and other stores are at walkable distance. The nearest bus stop is just outside the hotel. The railway station is around 1 mile, and the main market is around 1.6 miles, so everything is pretty much walkable from the hotel. Food & drinks: Pub is just downstairs, the food and drinks are lovely. The pub gives an beautiful environment to hang out in the evening.
Stayed at the Chase a few times, but this time the rooms have been refurbished.... The room was immaculate and the shower omg so powerful. Paid for breakfast but as we had an early lunch with family went for continental.... The waitress offered us some scrambled eggs as well..... I really recommend this hotel for a stay over..... Lovely, just lovely
Check in time at 2, arrived a little early - went to the built in pub which was fine. It's a Green King owned pub/hotel so usual chain variety of food and drinks reasonably priced. Initially pressed the reception buzzer but the pager it vibrates was on the side of the desk - had to go looking for staff. As noted we arrived about 50 minutes early but disappointed nobody was covering reception or at least had the pager on them. 20% off food for those staying in the hotel - Was disappointed that the discount didn't apply until after check in despite prepaying - seemed a little limited in customer service leeway and being difficult for the sake of difficult though not blaming the staff for such. Imagine it's set policy. Stayed in winter and the downstairs areas were a little cold - particularly the breakfast area. There is a beautiful fire but the heat was struggling to eminate throughout the room. Conversely, the bedrooms were extremely warm upstairs. Windows helped, though I imagine in summer it may be a little unbearable. When arriving at breakfast, the list of rooms, occupants names and personal GDPR information was left on a desk unmanned at the entrance of the breakfast area - I went over to see if I had to sign in, to be greeted by someone scalding me for looking at the piece of paper which shouldn't have been left out in the first place. They were at the back of the room talking with another colleague Breakfast was reasonably priced at 7.99 - sausage was ok. Some odd tomato breeds though - both breakfasts only had tomato tops... Rooms are a tad small, though roomy enough for an overnight stay. Pillows were a little hard but imagine we could have swapped out if we went downstairs. The radiators in the room were banging and rattling throughout the night. Overall, a relatively ok experience. Honestly not bad considering the price, but plenty of room for improvement.
Had an amazing experience thanks to the women Ann on reception . She helped me get the joint room I needed when I was in a panic , very friendly welcome . Room was clean and food was great would defiantly come backRooms: 5/5
