I went to Atelier to buy a hat to match a particular dress. Georgina was incredibly helpful and found me something beautiful. She was very accommodating in offering to change elements of it to suit me better, but in the end I decided it was perfect as it was. I would usually have expected a proper millinery to be out of my price range, but there is a real range here and a lot of options price-wise. I'd highly recommend Atelier for something stunning that will last forever.
Check the pricing before you go in, which I didn’t and regretted. I put in three hats in for what was essentially the brows of the hats were creased and so just needed to be smoothed out. For that, I was charged £150. If I had more time to stay in the shop, I would have questioned the fee. What was more, when I got home, two of the three hats still had noticeable problems. Other people seem to have had a good experience so I might be the odd one out in my experience but I will go somewhere else next time.
I was given a beautiful Atelier Millinery cloche as a present and came in to have it sized. Martine has been amazing, and I am just thrilled with my hat. I regret only that I don't have eight of them.
A lovely boutique on a hidden courtyard, right in the heart of Soho. They have hats that you can buy on the spot or you can work with their milliner to create your own. Well worth a detour.
