This is a excellent park with plenty of parking and amenities, it has a good children's playground, cafeteria and shop. Toilets well maintained and clean and plenty of refuge bins. It has wide open grassland and a good varied and well maintained pathways around open areas and enclosed woodland with streams waterfalls and fountains with a small lake next to the main house, it has several small gardens with plenty to see. Good for all ages with cycle lanes on some of the paths and dogs are welcome on leads with several dog litter bins dotted around. A really good day.
An extensive park close to the centre of Chorley with plenty of room to roam as well as a historic house and gardens to amble through. Free parking is available next to the entry shop where you get your free ticket to visit the house. The cafe serves ice cream and the usual coffee and cakes as well as a range of wines! Good toilet facilities close to the children's play park. It also houses a woodland walk and war memorials for the World wars as well as the Falklands conflict. A good destination for a day out to run off your children's energy with activities in the garden for them too. Some evocative sculptures for local 'tommies' and a downed RAF pilot sheltered by the French resistance. Spectacular blooms and the promise of an apply harvest come the Autumn.
Had a lovely afternoon walk around the park, the manor house was closed but the cafe was open serving hot drinks and food, dog friendly throughout, lots of people walking around the park, will be back again when weather warns up
£1 for 3 hours parking, Bargain! Absolutely stunning park and gardens. Great cafe, the coffee and breakfast barm were lovely. Had a small tour of the gorgeous hall. The male guide was very engaging and passionate with his knowledge. Clean toilets! Will be coming here a lot more as im only ten mins away. Would highly recommend!
Absolutely Awesome and beautiful park a rare jem in a beautiful world being ruined by humanity in its insanity for progress and profit and selfish haste for personal gain!nFirst time I had explored most of the park and although I was on my own everyone I met on my morning walk said good morning, hello or stopped for a chat even in the woodland walks which is rare were I live in Horwich and Bolton and the surrounding moorlands were I usually walk without with now deceased and dearly missed dogs these days. Only picked up 3 pieces of litter in the whole park to. Was lost in the wonders of nature whistling away to the wild birds and squawking with the Crows again as usual and delighting in the warm autumn sunshine in awe at all I saw and all I met! Really worth many more visits for myself and anyone else out there but please be respectful and follow the parks rules and regulations which are obviously being completely ignored in many cases in the parks and moorland around Horwich and Bolton these days and antisocial night's! 6 out of 5 stars Chorley what a beautiful good old Lancashire town you all are, many thanks for yet another wonderful visit, walk and warm welcome......
