A lovely place for a walk, sit and have coffee or great food in/outside the cafe, wander round the shop or walk along the river Yarrow. The hall is great and very interesting. There is a beautiful walled garden which is also great for kids. Highly recommended for a nice family day out.
Visiting the hall was free because they are having a major renovation. Still absolutely worth the visit. 2 hours of parking is also free. Lovely lunch at the cafe too.

Took the little un to see Santa, she throughly loved it. Despite the grey drizzly weather the grounds and buildings were very nicely preserved, will certainly be returning when we get a bit of nice weather to enjoy the scenery and relaxing atmosphere.
A Jacobean masterpiece with a lake, park and a walled garden in the heart of Chorley. Easy to get to and the tour cost just £5 but if you live in Chorley it's 50% off. The tour of the hall takes about an hour and the tour guide was very informative. They are doing up a couple of the bedrooms when I was there and the rooms were decorated for Christmas even though it's closing til the Summer. There is a gift shop were you can purchase tickets for the hall tour, an art gallery and a dog friendly café as well as toilets on site. The weather wasn't too brilliant but must be great to visit in Summer or when it's more favourable.
