I’ve eaten from here before many years ago and it was great but I got a portion of chips today and it was completely inedible, the chips were so chewy we couldn’t eat them. I waited for them so know they were fresh out the fryer but they had the texture of having been reheated or microwaved. Probably just a bad batch but a complete waste of £4! X

Good amount of food, Ordered Small and Large Donar Kebab, and a Small Chips, Both Kebabs were much larger then expected and filled the two of us up before we even started the huge portion of chips. 10/10 food great taste, the only negative i can even think of, is less salad then you'd expect, aside from that great food, great taste. Time from Order to Food in hand - 11mins Both workers were polite and the older gentleman had a great smile and welcoming atmosphere and clearly was the person to go to for service, while the younger gentleman was a little more like you'd expect from the younger generation, not rude, but was polite and more focused on his job. would be nice if he smiled as well but not really an issue as he was focused on cooking. TL;DR - Great Food, Good Service, Large Portions, Welcoming. Added the updated prices via photos as the old post was quite out dated.
Definitely best fish and chips in the area. Can be busy on a Friday evening but definitely worth the wait. I will be back next Friday. Thanks guy's. Cheers Colin
First time ordering Fish and Chips On Line, 5 Portions of Cod and Chips, what a Treat! The Fish was Hot, Huge, Fresh and Crispy, Chips were Delicious and the Portion was Huge. I had to eat My Meal in two servings, great Value for Money. I definitely will be ordering from here again Food: 5/5
Worst Food Experience Ever!! Worst Customer Service Ever! Never Again. Astar Fish Bar have replied to my review and stated that I was 'rude' how can I of been rude when my order never arrived and after one phone call to check on delivery they never answered not one of my calls again???? Suspicious Customer Service. Anyway, my review is here for all to see. Your establishment is a rip off and you dislike to admit your faults or issue refunds. There are so much better food restaurants to order from other than yours so YES I will kindly take my custom elsewhere

Worst customer services I have ever received. The man at the toll is very abrupt, told me they don’t take card after serving chips and told me if I did not like that I could leave. Cash only sign was not visible to me and I have been blessed with 20/20 vision. Left the shop very unhappy and sad. Took one bite of a chip and disposed of the rest. I would AVOID AVOID AVOID‼
Stopped by chance and got fish and chips. I had to wait for the fish to be cooked. It was surely worth the wait. The fish was cooked to perfection, a lovely light batter, just like you used to get years back. The chips were proper chips and the whole meal was a culinary experience. I will certainly return there again. The people who work there are pleasant and polite to deal with. I recommend you to try it if you are in the area. 100% enjoyable.
I'm from Brighton and grew up on fish and chips, now i live in nunhead i was so happy i found this place. The food was all cooked fresh,huge portions and very fare prices. In fact im on my way there now. A very highly recommended place to eat.
