Where do I begin... For starters, we ordered the Calamari and Bruschetta. I came in with high hopes just to later be disappointed. The Calamari was frankly tasteless. The only saving grace was the sauce with which it came. It was drowned in oil which caused it to become limp and soggy - not the crunch that I expected. The Bruschetta was similarly bland and soggy. It came on what I believed was a slice of white bread which did not feel authentic, and the tomatoes were mushy and dull. It was far from traditional. As for the mains, they were equally unsatisfactory. I ordered a Margherita pizza with extra prawns only to later discover that what I thought would be extra was a measly two prawns cut into quarters, mind you this was for an extra two pounds! The pizza base itself was not bad, although a bit doughy, the cheese had a nice bite and the flavour was there. However, the tomato sauce was honestly saddening. In my previous trips to Ask Italians, they have been nothing short of amazing, but perhaps today was not the day. The Spaghetti al Pomodoro had next to no flavour - no salt, no tomato, no nothing. The "Fresh Mozzarella" was the only redeeming quality. Overall, my experience here was subpar. I never thought I would have to say this about Ask Italian but this was a disheartening experience.
Always a good food experience at ASK, cannot fault the quality or service even though they looked a few short on staffing, but the manager was brilliant in making sure we had good food and a laugh to boot. Well done !
Our favourite restaurant- lovely choice of food- Hubby had Prima Margherita,Daughter the same+ I had Apollo pizza with Garlic Chicken, Peppers,Prosciutto- it was divine! Had Santa's Sunset cocktail which was lovely. The mini pudding selection was gorgeous too.Staff very attentive + good service. We had a lovely Anniversary meal - we will be back soon!
Nice restaurant, same as every ask but nice. Bit expensive for what it is but it what you expectFood: 4/5
The staff here are absolutely lovely polite kind and attentive. Made us feel absolutely welcome and even done little extras to help out as they seen us with kids. The Lady who I assume was in charge only slightly older than the rest was especially kind. And to top the food wad amazing empty plates!!!! Thank you allFood: 5/5
Had the nicest pasta I've tasted in a restaurant, drinks were amazing. Free shot lemonade when we came in was nice and was given a choice of seats. The blonde lady that served us was smiley and friendly.Food: 5/5
Fantastic !! Walked into the restaurant and was greeted with a smile by Ollie. He was happy and asked us to sit we’re we liked , which is always nice to be given the option. He then gave us a small shot glass of the fresh squeezed lemonade while we looked at the menus. What a nice welcome !! We were then served throughout by Lewis who was knowledgable about the menus and options for adults and my son. He was clear , polite and again felt like he enjoyed his job !! Couldn’t be more complimentary of the service received. A stark contrast from Wildwood in Stratford were I ate two weeks prior. Nice one lads keep it up and will see you again soon
Have tried a few Asks but the food at this one in Stratford-upon-Avon was not as good as the others. Service was excellent and couldn't fault anything so 5 stars for attentive courteous service. However, on the food front, my mushroom al forno starter was not up to par. It was burnt to a cinder and tasteless. The main of Manzo Piccante was also tasteless, with very mild chillies and the pasta had a taste of plastic about it. My wife's risotto though was well cooked and tasty. We visited on a Friday night and the atmosphere and ambience left a lot to be desired. Our best Ask so far is in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Absolutely beautiful. Staff was helpful and polite and very cheerful but wow, the food was amazing. Great place
We had calzoni it came within a few minutes of ordering and wasn't hot so obviously reheated and not for long enough. We ordered a side of baby gem salad, lettuce was brown on edges we'll past its best. Staff were very pleasant but as food was of poor quality we won't be returning.Food: 2/5
