Just had a lovely meal tonight at the Asiana with 4 friends, been going there for 10 years so was a bit apprehensive knowing it has new owners but food was fab and customer service was excellent, will definitely go back !
It's not bad food but it's certainly not the best either. I've had much better Indian that was much less greasy as well, I had to dab my naan with my napkin to get all the excess that was on it. The vegetarian option just used cheap vegetables, all cabbage and onion without more interesting like courgette, aubergine or broccoli and the flavour was nice but not Wow, a bit underwhelming. If you are looking for a new Indian and haven't been here before I'm certain you can find somewhere better.
Our 3rd visit to this restaurant. On this visit we discovered it was under new ownership. The food was fantastic. Service was second to none, although being a Wednesday, it was very quiet. The best chicken saag I've ever had. Popadoms and dips, waiting for our meal. Great naan. Very nice chapatis. Good luck to this family in there new venture
A very thorough menu for an Indian, representing many different aspects of Indian culture and it's food. All enjoyable and nice to sample many different dishes and ingredients while still also providing basic british foods for all guests to enjoy. Decent range of alcoholic beverages and deserts suited to the local areas represented by the menus and exciting to taste. Highly recommended for just a casual meal out or for when taking in the establishments that West derby village has to offer.
My usual experience here was a 7 on 10 for the food. It's not brilliant, quite tasty but hardly authentic. My personal favourite is Zeera in Stoneycroft which is not far away should you wish for an upgrade. That said its relatively clean which is the minimum you could ask for. Here is the issue, the last time I came they demonstrated a terrible attitude. I asked for my meal but when it came back the potatoes were near on raw, food looked poor Also. I then said I'm sorry can you change this as it was a vegetable based curry with raw vegetables and they changed it. When it came back it was exactly the same as the first one so I asked them a bit more annoyed why I have exactly the same curry. What proceeded was ridiculous. The manager came out with a bowl of vegetables and started squeezing them. "Nothing wrong with these, I cooked them all together" I asked why he'd come out and made a show of me squeezing potatoes and he said my meal was fine and I asked him to try mine. "I've threw it away" I decided to just forget it and asked for the bill. He charged me full price having not eaten it and when I suggested this was an unfair thing to do he went crazy and got other staff involved. I've never caused a fuss anywhere and I know you can't always get things right let me make that clear. But he's a disgrace. Not only has he lost a local customer but my family who were regulars don't go anymore. The manager basically comes across as curtious when your a new customer but don't be fooled. Even his discount cards he hands out aren't genuine as its that price usually anyways! Regards, ex customer.
REALLY POOR service and I am sure the food made us ill. The staff actually made us feel uneasy in their demeanour. The atmosphere was really unusual in the restaurant and they said they didnt have many common items that an Indian restaurant should have in at all times, particularly for a Saturday night. I will NEVER visit this restaraunt again.
When we first came here the resturant wasn't much to look at, however we thought don't judge a book by its cover. We stayed and ordered and i'm so glad we did! We never waited long and when the food arrived it tasted amazing! The portions were big too! Overall a great experience, top indian resturant! Recommended
My meal was nice but the service was not great, we went for long periods without a drink. They did not have any jack daniels, did not have any lamb and also did not even have any milk for tea/coffee even though there was a Tesco over the road???
Called in for take away. Didn't wait too long but the food was terrible. Both meals were swimming in grease, unbelievably poor. Had better meals from Tesco. Wouldn't go back.
Love this place. Great food, great service. Pity they Don t do the deals any more. Still worth a visit though.
