My dad had 2 wks at this place before he passed away. I would NOT recommend it AT all, My dad was not cared for, was left in bed and on 2 occasions I had to ask for a jug of water.asmy dad was thirsty. If your love one DON'T LEAVE THEM HERE.
I would give zero stars if I could. A place that should make dealing with your loved ones dementia has made things far more difficult. Never seen a manager, not even sure they exist, communication is dire, the owners/directors are aggressive bully’s if you dare to criticise they call you a liar. Don’t place your loved one here.
Ladies and Gents Please consider very carefully your decision to use this facility. I have rarely encountered such incompetence from Noel the administrator or such aggression from Cathy the Manager in our interaction with the “home”. We consider that we have had a lucky escape in deciding upon the care of my mother.
We thought we had found the right place for my brother in law when he needed end of life care. We were assured that they were able to provide not only the perfect care for him but would also support the family. However this has not proved the case. It is now well over two weeks since he died and so far no one has contacted my sister from the Home, even after she has emailed them. The caring and nursing staff had been excellent but on the night he died the nursing care fell short of our expectations particularly after we had been given such high expectations. The caring staff were always very good. It isn't good enough to have a lottery at the time of your loved ones death. We are disappointed that the all we were told at the meetings pre his arrival did not live up to expectations at the very time it was needed.
My mother was resident at Ashton House Residential and Nursing Home for only short time. However the team gave my mother excellent palliative care in the last weeks of her life. The staffs were also very kind to the family.
Finding somewhere where we felt Dad would feel safe and comfortable and be treated with respect was both a challenge and stressful experience. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been recommended to Ashton House Residential and Nursing Home who exceeded our expectation in looking after Dad in all aspects of care.
My sister has dementia and learning disabilities, she is treated by all the staff with care, respect and dignity. Staff are amazing and really do care. We have had support from the admiral nurse to help us cope with the effects of dementia.
I find Ashton House Residential and Nursing Home for my father to be a relaxing, friendly environment. Nursing Home welcome visitors at any time of the day and always offer tea or coffee to the visitors.
My aunty is very happy at Ashton House nursing home. The staff are helpful supportive, and understanding, and also have a good sense of humour which is always appreciated.
What ever you do, DONT place your loved one here. The management don't give two hoots about the care they give and god forbid you stand up to them because they kick your loved one out. Utterly shameful.
