I have no idea why this doctors has such a low star rating. I am an alcoholic in recovery and have depression, anxiety and ADHD. Since been at this doctors I have been able to stay sober for the longest period so far. When I first put down I fell into deep depression and when I reached out to these doctors they were there for me immediately. I saw someone at the beginning of the year for my mental health and was helped massively then yesterday saw a nurse re my anxiety and usually I feel quite dismissed and misunderstood but yesterday I felt totally seen, heard and understood in a way I never have been with my anxiety. I am now hopeful that yesterday's appointment was a life changer for me. These doctors have always gone above and beyond in my opinion. I can always get through and always get appointments. The worst thing that has ever happened is I was once waiting for a hour but when I was seen the care given was amazing and totally worth it. I was not just fobbed off. Can't thank them enough. I now receive care and medication which is helping me live a sober, mentally stable life.
Gps and a couple of the nursing staff are great, however the receptionists need training to be polite and actually listen to what patients say rather than agreeing and do something different. Saw gp yesterday explained hiw I needed something off my medication list that was faulty I received the week earlier. Gp agreed and asked me to get receptionist to do a prescription she said wait 48hrs. I telephoned today not done at all and won't give email address to complain. Going to have to waste an appointment to see a gp tomorrow now or do as I did good Friday and get emergency prescription.
Appalling behaviour by reception manager. One reception front of house. Poor phone answering. Difficulty getting an appointment to booking in to waiting times to see GP but if you are 2 mins late they won't see you. Outrageous the time it takes to get to be seen, then called then booked in at ironstone. No wonder there is a crisis in the accident and emergency department when staff block access to GPS. Yet I'm very certain we would have been waiting in the waiting room. Absolutely crazy and wreckers system. This is the last in a long list of issues at this practice. Time to move I think.
If you ever have the audacity to ring you'll be greeted as if you've just woken them at 3am, swiftly followed by being told to ring up at precisely 8am the next day if you want anything to do with a doctor at all; thankfully none of us have to work at 8am so 25 minutes on hold is not a problem. Upon doing so you will queue up like refugees at the back of an aid truck desperately hoping that the 136th time you ring you'll get through, only to be told that all the appointments are gone and you'll have to come back tomorrow and join the free-for-all once again. There are some brilliant Nurses and Doctors that work there, especially the recently retired Dr Truman, but overall it's easy to forget that the taxes we pay are in part to provide us with functional and compassionate healthcare
Awful. Trying to get a doctor to see my dad deaf with dementia and cancer face to face was a long struggle, resulted in them finally coming out to our car in surgery carpark, looking through the car window and agreeing to contact the district nurse as we needed help caring for himhe lived with my husband and i , they wouldnt home visit and the ONE wheelchair they had to get him into the surgerywasnt available, he was so ill he couldnt walk. Before diagnosis he only saw nurse 3 times for repeat blood and urine tests, then she would go ask the doctor for advice, finally *suggesting* he should maybe go to see a Urologist. Too late, he died 10 weeks later Come new year im leaving after using this practise since i was born. Place needs investigating, something very wrong there.
After my local gp closed I was in need of some advice I called out of hours and the nurse was very nice and welcoming on the phone, I eventually got a call back from one of the out of hours gp's not sure which he was immediately ignorant and reluctant to even help unless I travelled all the way to scunthorpe which I couldn't do. He then started having a go at me for an appointment I missed in 2019 which I cancelled before the date. I'd avoid this place at all costs, just a shame the calls get diverted to these lot.
Some of the reception team let the surgery down because of their lack of empathy and immature approach to the patient. Its not unusual for the reception to put the phone down on you because they lack the skills to deal with people that need to see a Dr. The surgery itself always looks untidy and littered outside so gives an impression of being a low standard. Patients are not treated well here.
This surgery is a Joke, and the Reception staff look at me as if I've got Plaque. Also the attitude and the 1.4 stars says a lot. They're that lazy at the practice they won't allow for Repeat Prescriptions to be ordered by phone,I phoned them once from just outside watching them regarding a pensioner that can't get in to post an Repeat Prescriptions slip, they said they was too busy until I walked in and said to her Too busy doing what? She didn't know What to say. So it's going to be CQC again and I will have this practice shut down. I'll get the pensioner into my GP who do accept Repeat Prescriptions ordered over the phone. So I'll phone tomorrow and let them know I'm reporting them to B M A, C Q C, and an Ombudsman. I put 1 as you can't put None.
‘Holistic family healthcare, accessible to all' Absolutely not. You ring at 8am for the line to be busy. If you do get through which is a small miracle you are told theres no appointments left and you have to ring up at 8am the next day. Not good when you start work at 8 and spend 30 minutes and 100's of phone calls trying to get through. When i ask for checks that i want done i get laughed at by the doctor and he tells me not too worry because im 'too young' 23. Very shoddy service - but i'm not suprised - the NHS has 0 competitors so there is no reason for them to improve their service. Makes you wonder where your money goes.
Some not all of the reception staff are extremely rude & unhelpful. I’m trying to get help for my daughter and all I get is ring back in the morning, I ring back and by the time I have re-dialed 34 times as they don’t have an adequate queuing system all the appointments are gone and you simply cannot make a booking for another day. There is no wonder people give and get worse. To say the service is rude & incompetent is an understatement. No other drs surgery is run like this one. I think the staff need customer etiquette training or maybe just try and be a compassionate human being! Just a thought
