Stopped here for lunch at the carvery on a Friday. Place was quite busy but lots of seating available so that was OK. Ordered the roast beef with all of the trimmings and whilst the portion size was massive, the food itself was a bit mass produced. The beef itself was very tasty, the vegetables seemed as if they were frozen packet sourced, the mashed potatoes could be confused with porridge and the Yorkshire pudding was more like a plastic Frisbee. Reasonable cost though, so maybe you get what you pay for.

Bar had a great atmosphere. Great variety of sports on the TVs. The carvary looked and smelt amazing. The food in the restaurant was 10/10 good choice and big portions. Highly recommended

A convenient hotel with great character to stop for a meal or refreshment on your journey. Meet with locals, book a room, try the lunch or evening menu, check out the meeting rooms ... a touch of old-fashioned character to savour the comfortable facilities. Enjoy.

I met friends in the lounge today with the intention of having lunch. Aborted that plan after we saw the the quality of the food & the serious lack of food hiegene & storage. To my horror, they had raw beef burgers in a container within the same display cabinet as cooked chicken & bacon along with cut up vegetables. That's not the worst part, all the meat was uncovered and being visited by a huge Blue bottle flying from one item to the next. I had to go to reception & ask to speak to the hotel manager and make her aware that this incredible lack of food safety was simply unacceptable. She barely apologized but hopefully she acted accordingly & has adressadd the issue. All I can say now is, diners beware!
