Today, 24 December 2025 at approximately 12:35 pm, I had a deeply upsetting experience at Asda Llandudno, specifically at the self-service checkout area.nI approached the self-service tills with heavy items. Two people were standing in the middle of the area and were not clearly forming a queue. I had arrived before them. Suddenly, a male staff member mid-20s to 30s, white, new to the store approached me aggressively and said, “Hey, come here, you have to wait there, there is a long queue before you.”nThere were only two people, and I calmly explained that I had come before them. Instead of dealing with the situation professionally, he began arguing with me in a confrontational and humiliating manner.nWhat made this incident particularly disturbing was that white customers were openly breaking the queue in front of me, yet the staff member did not challenge them at all. He focused solely on me. As a brown customer, this treatment felt targeted, discriminatory, and racially biased.nTo avoid escalation, I moved to another till and lifted my heavy items again. The same staff member followed me and shouted at me, behaving as if I was reacting aggressively. Any noise made was simply due to the weight of the items, not intentional behaviour. His actions amounted to harassment and public intimidation.nI remained calm throughout and did nothing to justify this treatment. I recorded the incident, as I felt unsafe and unfairly targeted.And I will report about it to the police.nThis experience was humiliating and unacceptable. No customer should be treated differently, spoken to aggressively, or singled out based on race or appearance. It reflects very poorly on staff training and store management at this branch.
Have been a regular customer here for years but the last few times there have been long queues at the tills.Today there were again only 3 tills serviced and long queues down the aisles,not acceptable having to queue for 25 minutes, saw dozens of staff picking groceries for delivery, how about looking after core customers who can be bothered to actually take the time to shop,spoke to a member of staff to get hold of a supervisor but did nothing.nWe have now decided to give up on Asda and see if Tesco and Morrisons can give us better service as Asda's management seem conspicuous by their absence .
If I could score 0 stars I would. No wonder Asda is struggling as a business, what an awful store experience. None of the cold drinks to go were cold, including the special Red Bull promotional fridges at the lottery till.
Absolutely shocking at the moment. No trollies available. I had to stand there for at least 10-15 minutes waiting for a trolley then the staff member came and said - ‘I’ve only just started ‘ !nThe only trollies available were those with baby carriers .nnI wasn’t the only person waiting. There were at least 6 other people.
Ordered cheese burger and chips.nnChips were for a minor no sauce had to ask for extra sauce and the burger was clearly a rustlers burger ????? ??£18 do not bother chips portion was questionable for a minor not a grown adult you can tell compass uk now do the food at asda
