They should be reported to the Food Standards Agency. They relabelled Duck Breast from August 2018 as "Packed On 03-01-2020". Yesterday, my wife bought Duck Breast from them. They have put a new label on top of the original label. This new label clearly states "Packed On 03-01-2020" and states the weight as 0.508kg. See first attached scan. I've pulled the label off. The printing of the original label stuck on the reverse of the new label and it states "Frozen on 20.8.18". See second attached scan. It also states a weight of 0.502kg. The product was still in date assuming that they kept it frozen, as the label states "At -18°C Best Before end 08.2020". But I think it is not OK to relabel products with wrong package data and weight. I've told my wife to never buy there again.
I have just consumed a whole family sized steak&kidney pie all I can say as an ex baker of 16 years the still warm pie when purchased was the best pie that I have ever eaten!! thank you Ian and team your are simply the best in the South West regards and respect.Robin 29/10/2020
Sent my partner in who asked for 2 sets of baby back ribs for the bbq. Once she got home I opened the bag to find they arnt baby back ribs at all. Some had been cut from the belly but he’s kept most of the meat for himself. The others are from the loin but again no meat left on them and they are cut far to long for proper bbq ribs. They are also off 2 different pigs as a very different colour. The lighter ones would eat nice but the others are very dark from an older animal problem boar. This butcher either doesn't know bbq cuts or has fobbed us off with his offcuts. They were cheap but id rather pay the going rate for what ive asked for than just be given what the butcher want to get rid of.
