Lovely attentive friendly staff. First time of going here today and definitely will go back, had a the trio of roast and it was very generous, loads of meat and veg. Defiantly somewhere to go back again, would highly recommend xx
Lovely rambling old pub with plenty of rooms and corners for eating, big fireplace by the bar and good outside area too. We'd reserved for a Sunday lunch and choose wonderful dished from a pretty extensive menu. The lamb rump with lots of veggies, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding was delicious, the "bottomless" gravy adding good depth to the flavour. We ordered the house prosecco and cabernet sauvignon which were very good, along with a couple of non alcoholic drinks. And for dessert we tried the ice-cream, brioche pudding and lemon posset - delicious!
This is really 4.5 stars. Great food Sunday roast x 7, good wine and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The only slight let down was the lack of attention after we were seated and to a lesser extent between courses. Actual service at the table was very good and food was served promptly. Will return mid week, to try other menu items...
If we could have given 10 we would. We had the most amazing experience at lunch today. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, friendly and inviting. Kate, our server, was just brilliant. I have an allergy and she not only checked all my food was free of ingredient, but also that of my family. This really helps as we love to try each others meals. On arrival of our starters she again advised that my dad's meal had ingredient in the sauce. Through out the meal, Kate was present to support without being intrusive. The food was first class, highly recommend the sharing platter "piggy feast", can't remember full name and the scallops. We all had different mains and each was as good as the other. Thank you Kate and all the chefts for an amazing, gorgeous meal experience. Highly recommended for enjoyable meal.
Absolutely huge roast with unlimited gravy, amazing crispy roasties & all the sides. Plus, you can do 3 courses for c.£25 if you’d like £3 supplement if you’d like the 3 meats… although we were so stuffed after the main we only managed two . Great service & location near the box hill walk. Will definitely be back!
The burgers that my husband and I had were delicious - flavourful, fresh all round and succulent. A burger worth its price. Staff very accommodating to the small extras that aren't always asked for. The atmosphere was pleasant, music at a noce tone and vibe. No pressure to rush even though fully booked. Thank you.Food: 5/5
Great pub and amazing ambience, however king prawn linguine dish was way too garlicky. All I can taste was garlic. I didn't tell to waitress neither anyone checked up on our food as it was a very busy night and we were in rush to get to Brockham fireworks. My husband's Dirty burger was good. Otherwise, great place to go to.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting your establishment on Mothering Sunday, which we know is one of your busiest days. Despite this, we were warmly welcomed from the moment we walked through the door at our reserved table for 4 o'clock. Within minutes, a table was cleared and we were promptly seated. Our waiter for the evening was a young and enthusiastic individual by the name of Jamie , who we believe is a true ambassador for your company. Jamie was extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble for him, which made for a very friendly and enjoyable dining experience. When our starters arrived from the kitchen, we were delighted to find that they were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Three out of the four people in our party ordered the trio of roast, and we were not disappointed. Despite the high volume of covers and the speed at which the food was coming out of the kitchen, the roast was cooked to absolute perfection with succulent meat and piping hot, dry dishes. We highly commend your kitchen staff for their hard work and dedication, and feel that many other establishments of your caliber could learn from the example set by Arkle Manor. As we finished our meal, we were impressed by how quickly the restaurant refilled with customers, demonstrating that your staff were working hard and worth every penny of their wages. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed dining at your establishment and look forward to visiting again in the near future.
We recently visited the Arkle Manor for my mums 60th. 20 of us in total, so I was expecting some chaos from us The staff were fantastic. Made sure we were welcomed on arrival, with drinks following shortly after. The meals were all served together and the food was delicious. The whole experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Many thanks to the staff for a wonderful evening.
Visited recently for Sunday lunch. Dinner and drinks were delicious, highly recommend the Dirty burger, haven't stopped thinking about it since. Been to Arkle Manor several times and always left satisfied and happy. Great staff too.
