The location is bit far from city centre. The rooms are quite tidy but clean. But their breakfast buffet is not good with no proper range of dishes. No eggs were there you have to ask the waiter and they serve you only one egg with taking half hour to fry. Rooms: Rooms are tidy but clean.
Stayed here for 2 nights while celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday. Perfect location for pubs and food and close to a public park for a refreshing walk. Room was small but really pretty and very clean. Check-in was across the road where there staff clearly wanted to be elsewhere. We interacted with 2 different guys on the front desk, both seemed to have no time for guests. Beautiful place, just a shame about the reception
Visited this hotel around 2 to 3 years ago, and then the rooms in annexe building opposite the main hotel were in need of a revamp. Very pleased to say that the rooms in this part of the hotel are much improved. The bathrooms have bigger and better showers and the rooms are a good size. There are much better security door locks, too.Rooms: 5/5
It's an old but well maintained property. Thr bathroom has been renovated. The windows were not good enough to stop the noise from the street or people talking. Conveniently located there is street parking in the areas around for £8/3 hrs. It's free parking from 6 pm to 8 am. Just be mindful to not park on the loading bays that are right in front of the hotel entrances. The rooms are on on the opposite side of the road from the checkin desk and restaurant. The breakfast was good and had all the usual items.
Nice and comfortable bed in compact room. Room did have good shower and was clean. Tea and coffee making facility. Rooms: Compact and clean.
Stayed here for a weekend. Small but nice room. Heating is great. The breakfast is lovely. Plenty of choice. Close to plenty of places to visit and eat. Only disappointment we were in room 1 which was right by the front door so we were kept awake a lot by the door constantly being opened and shut as people returned after a night out. Also as it was by the entrance there was a lot of loud talking and laughing which kept us awake too. Nice hotel, would go again but would definitely request another room.
Rooms are okay the front desk service is the worst. They won’t give a single effort to help resolve guest problems. Very unwelcoming staff. Not the breakfast lady’s tho they were very niceRooms: 3/5
I was very happy here. My room was comfy and spotlessly clean. All of the staff were friendly and approachable. The breakfast was good and generous. The location is great for local attractions and close to transport links bus, subway to the rest of the city.Rooms: 5/5
The room was perfect for what we needed. Very clean with good shower. The location is great for getting about the city centre. Only let down was the breakfast, although it was included in the price, the standard of the cooked food wasn't the best, The little restaurant was very nice though. All in all, nice cheap getaway.
Loved this place, would stay here again. A very pleasant surprise. Very clean. Shower is nice and hot. Modern bathroom. Comfortable beds. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk and a good kettle. The only thing that let it down here for me was that the quilt was a thin summer one and sleeping in the basement where the floor and the window was cold, being less than 5° outside, I had to ask for a blanket as there were none in the room. However, the receptionist was more than happy to supply. This place looks better on the inside than the outside. The staff are sooo friendly and helpful. And as for the breakfast, they go out of their way to bring in fresh food constantly being made and brought in from the kitchen. They even had fresh natural yoghurt brought in daily from the farm. Just one thing with the yoghurt... they are left to sit in the dining room to warm up, and as delicious as it was, it wasn't cold. Suggest sitting it/them in ice, and label this fantastic feature up as there was nothing to promote where it was from, only a member of staff told me as I asked her about it. It's only a 10 minute walk from the Ovo, so not far. And 30 minutes walk into the city. We marvelled at the architecture all the way. It's a beautiful city and people are so friendly.
