Very rude undermining staff. Tired to return a hammock which had not been used but I was told this wasn’t possible because I had opened the box and put it together to see if I liked it and it could fit the space I wanted it. I was told because I had opened it and already put it together it had been used and because I had used duck tape the fasten the box back together I had damaged the box and it couldn’t of been sold on. I challenged this and said I didn’t have any other colour tape and that it was just a box but was told I should have used string !? I told the lady I had not even sat in the hammock and just put it together as I bought it on the basis I could return it if I wasn’t 100%.
Went to argos today 23/6/24 wanting to pay cash was stood in que while 15 other people got served was stood there 20 minutes so I questioned this and some grumpy old woman snapped they were busy no one ever acknowledged I was stood there so in my defence I said " it says payed online not priority que and also added being busy and the place being run very unorganised was 2 different things moral of the story is don't try to pay cash because from what she said whilever there are people in the paid online que cash buyers ain't getting served well done argos....not. item purchased was fine
First visit to this Argos the store is situated inside Sainsbury's and is not over large. There was two staff members on one was serving customers the other was in and out of the shelving behind the counter. I used the display machine to order my item then was stood waiting for sometime. My order was displayed on the ready to collect monitor but I had to wait for a little longer for the staff member who was serving a customer when I entered to finish. The other member of staff was still floating around the shelving I finally got served however I do feel this Argos store has a staffing issue as it's obvious that two members of staff are not enough and it was not over busy at the time of my visit. 16/03/2024: I wanted an item from Argos and after my last visit I decided to purchase the item on line then go and just collect it. After driving to the store I was told at the collection point "you will have to come back next week as our systems are down" I replied that's ok I've already paid for the item on line and just collecting it. I was then told "you have seven days to collect your item you will have to come back next week. I don't understand why this wasn't mentioned on the Argos website. For me Argos is far from what it was when it first hit the high street it just went downhill after it was taken over by Sainsbury's.
Purchased a Russell Hobbs microwave, but had to visit the store twice, because despite being told online that it was in stock, it wasn't. I was informed that the one microwave that had been in stock, was now on its way somewhere else. I was told that they would get this microwave back in the following day. Sure enough, I got a message this morning saying the microwave was ready for collection. On arrival at Argos Sainsburys I was the only customer. Asked if I was picking up an order I said yes. The assistant started to process my order, only to then have to stop part way through, to inform me that the transaction could not take place at that till, and would need to be processed at a different till. Having paid, I then had to wait a few minutes. There were four members of staff doing nothing, so not sure why the delay. Having got the microwave home, and opened it, there was no instruction manual. Obviously I had received the same microwave that had left the store the previous evening. Not the best experience, and I think it will be a while before I venture there again.
Dissapointed, brought a playstation 5 online it said available. When I went to purchased it allowed me than it canceled right after saying out of stock. The only frustrating thing is that I have to wait 5 days for a refund when I could've just went to another store to purchase where it was available. Next time it would be good to offer available options as it would be a available Sunday after 10am, I would've been ok with doing that. Instead I have to wait and hope that it's in stock when I have to repurchase.
Purchased a TV online, collected it, it looked cheap, and flimsy rang up to see if I could return it. I told her why, and I got back. I will take your number and ring. My manager never rang me back, but if you go on the website, it states you can return, so I recommend that if buying something from there, you and it's not suitable you won't get refunded....Will never buy from argos again
Very rude, lazy staff on tonight at chesterfield. There were four staff members on that we saw although 3 of them may as well not have been One was sat down while the other two stood with her. The forth was running around doing all the work and looked so fed up but still managed service with a smile and friendly attitude when bringing us our item I wish i'd got her name to give her a mention. Absolutely poor service and not a nice atmosphere to shop in. Very disappointing experience. Long wait for just two customers could of been avoided if all staff were actually doing their jobs.
Awful service!!! The lady supposed to be the manager has been really rude, telling me that I have to contact DPD after she told me that she doesn't know where my parcel I dropped it off yesterday for a delivery has been put. She refused to check in store. After 20 minutes over the phone, she told me that there is not my parcel in the store which means that it has been collected by DPD. However, DPD website doesn't show the parcel and it show a message saying the opposite 'waiting for your parcel' which means that the parcel hasn't been scanned yet from Argos. Try to avoid if you are looking for a nice and prompt service.
Many of the staff are rude and don't want to help. They act like being there and dealing with customers is a burden to them. If you don't like interacting with people, don't work in a customer based business. This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Argos/Sainsbury executives your staff at this branch have to be lossing you money, as people like me will not shop at this store again. Please, please retrain you employees in customer service, and sack the worst ones because some of them really don't want to be there. I wish Google would allow me to select 0 Stars instead of 1 Stars. Because I am sorry to say this store really does only deserve 0 Stars.
They don't deserve even 1 star! I ordered 2 items 12 hours apart. I had an email about the 1st one to collect. Whilst in store I asked a young member of staff if the other one had come in, the assistant wouldn't even check and just kept saying if I hadn't had an email then it wasn't there. After another day I checked my account and saw it was in store. Still no email. I called the store and asked if they could check. The assistant again said if I hadn't had my email then it hadn't been delivered. I asked her to just check as it was showing on my account that it had been delivered. She checked and it was there! I went into store to collect and it was the same girl as yesterday and her attitude was all wrong and made it quite clear she didnt want to serve me. Thankfully another older member of staff came and served me. The younger member needs massive training on customer service both face to face and on the phone. Wont be using Argos here again
