We chose the Apollo Hotel for our annual Christmas do which was last night. We booked the three course Christmas dinner with a disco. It was fantastic. The food was delicious delicious pate, a beautifully cooked beef roast and a substantial slice of cheesecake the wine was well chosen and the disco was great-a really good mix of tunes and a DJ who was more than happy to take requests. The team were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we were having a great time. We’ve been to some really quite disappointing functions in the past and the Apollo hotel and their team really did come up trumps!
Went there fir a Christmas party. The DJ played extremely cheesy music, and we love a disco. Most of our party spent the evening in the bar. Also the toilets weren't clean. The positive was the food was better than most Christmas party venues.Service: 3/5
Came for a work Christmas party they knew od my allergies weeks in advance. When we sat down for a meal I was given a soup which contained Cortons which have gluten in i old them in cannot eat this as I can't eat wheat thye took it away and kept bringing the same one bag eventually I got one with out the Cortons in .for the main course I was given a roast dinner with a Yorkshire pudding i asked if this was gluten free and was told 'I don't know" a but worrying so thye took it away and brought me a new one but I reckon thye just took the Yorkshire puddings off as I have now suffered with the side effects of eating gluten .they gave me the wrong pudding S the one I originally ordered couldn't me made to be gluten free .I'm very saddned and angry as all of this food was pre ordered and for 40 pounds per person you'd expect better service i was not the only one who had this issue
Was here for a conference. The room was good and thankfully the AC was excellent we were there in the July heatwave. The refreshments were great and lunch was very good. Plenty of food. The staff were very attentive and checked in throughout the day. I'd recommend and would use the venue again.
I went to an Event at the hotel and the staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The place was very clean and well looked after.
I only went to Apolo Hotel to donate blood at the NHS camp. But I have stayed in this hotel in the past and the hygiene and service is quite reasonable.Rooms: 4/5
Hotel closed as far as I am aware. You can not book any rooms. They will not give any reason for this. I have called them and they confirmed you can not book a room.
Room was nice enough, but we asked for water and it never arrived. Coffee had plastic in it too after my final mouthful. There was no machine working on our floor either as well as spoons. For the price of rooms, not a great experienceService: 1/5
We went to a music event last night 1st April which was fantastic only to be let down by this venue .The food was seriously awful and inedible. The only choice on the event menu was chicken which was cold ,dangerously undercooked with traces of blood ,cold veg potatoes possibly reheated etc in fact the only hot thing was the plate! it was sent back twice for 3 members of our party but was left again as it was not worth the risk of becoming unwell and there didn’t seem to be any signs of real concern either ! the starter was like salty water like a poor cuppa soup but flavourless ,not veg soup . What didn’t help was the lighting was so poor that you couldn’t see the proper colour of the food either as it was like a ultra violet light that made the soup look orange! there was no other alternative at all or offered to us. This will be taken up with management when we return home ,fortunately the music event was great but seriously let down by the venue , not sure what proportion of the £60 per head went to the venue but we all had to eat when we came home . My wife was also getting the same feedback from other guests about the food, let’s hope they will also share their views as it was absolutely disgusting that a chef would allow that to happen let alone the management .The one star given is for the waiting staff who were left to field the dissatisfaction .
The only downer i found was no soap in the toilet that i used. I can't give stars for the rooms as we were there for a wake, yes wake...
