Fawlty Towers version of an insurance broker. My first experience of Anthola: They took weeks to get back to me with a quote for insurance. They promised me dates several times, and then didn't get back to me, leaving me to chase them up several times. I finally had enough, went online and did my insurance with a comparison website. My second experience of Anthola: My online insurance came for renewal. I thought it would be better to use a broker to ensure the insurance was done properly. My company was a lot bigger, and it wasn't worth saving money online when there was a risk of making my own mistakes. I decided to use a broker again to make sure my business was understood correctly and insurance was definitely in place. I used a different person at Anthola. I explained my business and turnover while they took notes. They called me and gave a quote over the phone. I approved the quote. A few days later I found 10 times the correct amount had been taken out of my account, putting me in my unarranged overdraft, and preventing me from making payments from my account over the weekend. The bank reversed the payment for me on the Monday. A week later, I still hadn't received my documents in the post. I called up and they emailed. In less than 60 seconds I found 2 glaring mistakes. They got my company wrong, and my turnover was less than 3 times smaller than the figure I gave them in the office. I replied back straight away telling them to cancel the insurance. The point of using a broker was they would do a better job than me, and I could no longer trust them. Almost a week went by. No reply. I went down to the office and spoke to the guy who setup the insurance. I asked whether the insurance had been cancelled. He said he had been too busy. I said I wanted the insurance policy cancelled, and the money refunded. He said it could take up to 30 days to recover the money from the insurance company. I told him to refund me out of Anthola money. It was their mistake, they should fix it with their own money, and then recover mine from the insurance company. He spoke to me as if I was being completely unreasonable, and gave me an email address to email a complaint to on a sticky note. I emailed a complaint. No response. The money came back over a month later. If you want to insurance for a different business to the one you run, no attention to detail on your insurance, poor customer service, incorrect sums of money to be taken from your bank account, and a generally unreasonable company to deal with, you will not be disappointed when working with Anthola.
