Story

Alton Water is the largest area of inland water in Suffolk, making it the perfect location for young people to experience and explore the outdoor environment.
Established in the early eighties as a successful training centre Alton Water has become a highly acclaimed RYA and AALA approved training centre delivering safe, adventurous and informative programmes to young people of all ages and abilities.
It is also the ideal area of water for Windsurfers and Sailors to practice their skills and even join in competitive racing! Learn, Hire, Join, Race!

I love sailing here they hold some great events and are a very friendly crowd. You are able to bring your boat here and pay for a days sailing which is great to get on a great bit of water. The safety cover can be a bit hit and miss though

Lovely place to walk. Lots of development going on at the moment. Looking forward to camping in the currently being built camp site.

4 miles all the way around ...sense of achievement when you do it ..it's well worth nipping into the tea shop to reward yourself ...lovely earl grey tea

A working reservoir serving Ipswich. Boating , kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding on the water. Cycle or walk round the reservoir ( About 8 miles ) on site cafe and changing rooms.
