I never knew that Alt-Berg boots were based in Richmond, North Yorkshire;, not Austria or similar.nI came across their factory & shop by accident, on an industrial estate.nHaving entered the unit, I saw 2 employees fitting customers with new boots. They not only helping customers, but they actually make the boots too.nTheh measured my feet electronically, I'm size 12.5 extra wide. I have been buying size 15  boots to accommodate the width of my feet in other make of boots.nSize 12.5 was too small, I was banging my toes on the incline slab, to immitate walking down hill.nSize 13.5 extra wide was perfect. They also showed me how to lace my boots correctly too, to prevent ankle movement. Less chance of blisters.nExcellent service all round.n3 season boots purchased for now. I will return to buy the 4 season boot suitable for C2 articulated crampons.

Arrived at the factory store late on a Saturday and even though the store should have closed the boot maker and owner stayed open to help me get the right boots for the type of use I'm after.nVery good service with a very good well made boot! I would very very highly recommend to get a fitting and a pair of military and or hiking boots from them!

A combination of the latest technology with laser ,3D measurement of my feet and traditional boot maker skills with lasts etc . Soldiers were having their feet measured for new army boots a testimony to the quality and high standards.  It's nearly 30 years since I had English made boots and they are brilliant.  Comfortable and a great fit . Reasonable price for high quality product and excellent service.

Visited Alt-berg today and was extremely happy with the service from the staff. I have always had issues with boot sizing due to having very wide feet. Feet measured and options discussed and now a proud owner of a set of 12.5 wide Alt-bergs.

Just bought my first pair of Altberg boots and couldn’t be happier. Beautifully made, a pleasure to walk in, and great value for money.
