absolute joke this medical group, I got up early to ring as soon as you open at 8am and it’s now nearly 9am and no one has answered the phone and it’s getting hung up on me. I have a poorly baby!! Disgraceful
Always received excellent and prompt response to enquiries and been able to see Doctor or health professionals quickly.
trying to fill and pick up prescriptions, never mind booking an appointment is awful-prescriptions change without notice, are discontinued without notice, you have to go in and queue, discussing your business for all and sundry to here. You are sent from the pharmacy back to reception who then get up and go back to the pharmacy, you get half a prescription. You fill in forms that are ignored. You cant book an appointment for love nor money or book in advance if you actually work or live a long way away- absolutely appalling- just dont need the doctors is my advice! 19.3.20 website for alnwick medical group been down all day- despite the coronavirus lockdown no-one at the surgery has done anything about it, what a shocker! 20.10.22 alnwick medical continues to be absolutely rubbish-you are always given less repeat prescriptions than you should have-constant phone calls to get things sorted where they tell you something on the phone and dont do it-they put things on your records you have never discussed when in the surgery so I guess it's some tick box exercise-you're called in for appointments you dont need or are months too early for reviews-seriously this is the worst run drs I have had in my very very long life
Still haven't received heart medication 2 weeks after it was requested by HF clinic, and a further telephone call today from myself. When I highlighted this poor service in response to a post on Facebook about AMG being efficient!? I was deleted. Apparently only sycophantic comments are allowed.
This surgery might as well not exist because you have to call 111 if you want to speak to a doctor, even during the surgery’s opening hours. No matter what time of the day you call them, they have no appointments available and you have to call 111 to get any kind of help. Even if it’s for your sick two year old child. Absolutely appalling.
I phoned for an appointment and was told full but I could access easily online. i try and access online and there is information I require to register that I don't have which means I need to phone the surgery again to get the information, to go through the online questions once again to get to the part I can submit the information required....I haven't even begun to say what the problem is yet. The earliest ring back appointment I could have is the 23rd December...today is the 6th December...a frustrating and poor service. I haven't accessed my GP for a while, it has got worse! The two starts is for the fact I can order my repeat medication on-line which is useful.
Thanks to AMD who, with all the problems of Covid, and their huge vaccination program, have still served us well through the last 2+ years.
OMG AMG! Big thankyou to reception and the nurse practitioner teams. I called today re. a small but very uncomfortable eye infection worried it may worsen over the xmas break. It was speedily diagnosed, medication prescribed and delivered to my front door within a couple of hours. So grateful.
Rang prescription line and was told to do it online,so did, couldn't find what I wanted so rang surgery I explained I couldn't find the right option and was told to pick the nearest thing or ring back in morning, if she could of took the time to help me on the econsultant I maybes would have got somewhere !! and was told to do it online, tried that and couldn't find how to do it,so rang surgery, was told to try again so disaster ex
So difficult to see or even chat to a doctor... 1st of all you have to get past the bloody receptionist, most of which have very little PR Skills. You are not treated with any respect and least of all they couldn't give a dam. So I have personally decided to stop seeking their help or advice.. Worse practice ever.. And better off Google ypur symptoms you will get a better diagnosis... Been with this practice for 20 years but it has been rubbish for a while now.. And Covid is not the excuse... They just dont listen and didn't before hand. I think I will have to raise funds to seek a private consultation to get any where
