Went here for a Troll bead glass making session that we had got my mother for her birthday. It was a great experience. There was a woman from Troll bead that was there that made my mother her very own glass bead done how she wanted it. She got to watch the woman make the glass bead. Very unique and a must for any Troll bead collector. Very polite staff and very accommodating.

Took my watch in for a new battery as the "low battery" warning was showing. Needed pressure sealing (hence sending away). Chain jewellers quoted me £45. A&S quoted £50 and 2 weeks. 2 weeks later it came back with same low battery warning. Pointed this out and was told that it couldn't possibly be the battery - watch must be faulty. Asked them to sort it. Another week goes by and the watch is ready. Surprise, surprise - they changed the battery and everything was fine (did they even do anything the first time around?). Bill £60. Time taken 3 weeks. Overall service - terrible. They just said "that's how much it costs" when I queried the price difference (33% premium over and above the chain jeweller sending it back to manufacturer, don't forget). They didn't even check who I was when I collected the watch. An aside - They also have the strange practice of REFUSING to give me a receipt when dropping something off. This means that I have to trust that if they lose it they'll remember me? I thought the local guys would be better than the chain lot, but they're really not. More expensive, slower and less careful with my watch. Won't use again.
