Absolutely outstanding service. I had fifteen pieces of very fine and expensive clothing that, due to a bottle breakage inside a suitcase, were absolutely covered with vast amounts of deep orange and very strong smelling hot sauce; some stains had worked themselves right into the fabric and others were smeared thick and glutinous across the cloth. All of the pieces of clothing were cream, white and beige linen and silk, with delicate embroidery and details. When I dropped them off at Alex’s Dry Cleaners I believed all of these items to be irreparably ruined – the total value of the pieces as new would be well exceeding several thousand pounds. The wonderful lady there – Alex – was as equally shocked at the state of the clothes, and was at once upfront and honest about the chances of removing the stains. She said recovering the items would be most unlikely and never once did she make any promises purely to secure my custom. However she did promise that she would do her very best to fix them as I needed them extremely urgently. After a very short turnaround I collected the items, already resigned to their loss and just expecting a reduction in the severity of the stains. However to my genuine astonishment Alex had managed to remove 99% of the stains to a level that was quite unbelievable. And even with this result her honesty prevailed to the point where she was sure to note that the stains in one item had not been removed to the level that she would have liked – but to my eyes the item was fantastically clean and white – as were the rest - as if there had never been any thick orange sauce smeared all over it. All in all I have never experienced such outstanding, professional and most importantly, truly honest service from a dry cleaner of any sorts before – be it in London or New York. I would recommend Alex’ Dry Cleaners to anyone looking for a highly reliable, genuine and decent service; such that is becoming increasingly hard to find elsewhere. Highly recommended without a doubt.
Wonderful little lady! I had a big oil stain that another dry cleaner place said couldn't be removed, but Alex dry cleaners got rid of it no problem and my jacket looks like new. I had such a good experience, I chose to write my first review ever. I will definitely return, and will start being careless with my clothes so I have a reason to do so sooner. OK, I'm exaggerating a little, but you get the picture. Awesome experience.
Just used this place for the first time, as I thought the reviews generally looked good, especially compared to most other dry cleaners on google maps that seem to have terrible ratings. I dropped off my wife's dress with a reasonably large red wine stain on it two days ago. The owner asked me to come back two days later, so I did, and voila, it was ready to go with no sign of the stain. Apparently he had to do three washes to get it out, so it seems like he puts the effort in, which is good. Someone has written a review on here saying the staff are unfriendly. Certainly not in my experience. It might not be service with a smile, in that cheesy fake way, but the bloke that dealt with me was perfectly friendly throughout.
Do great job there. However the owner died after over 40yrs in business so let see what service next. Unfortunately cash only shop and customers are not called when cleaning is ready.
I was charged by weight for laundry rather than per piece, and it was much cheaper than what my hotel charged. I dropped off the clothes in the morning, and they were ready for collection by 6:00 pm.
Very friendly and did a fantastic job! Thought the jacket was ruined but he got the stains out - not a trace left!
Excellent service, for a fantastic price and jobs done in under 1 hour. Will definitely be using them again.
Terrible service and unfriendly staff, so I really don't recommend this place. Although they were quick, they did a terrible job at cleaning my stuff.
