As before great value food and drink surprised no tobacco products!Staff first class especially lovely shelf stacker and checkout lady last 2 visits.
This morning I did a weekly shop , put it all through the self scan, where customer assistant Tina patiently aided me when I had problems with package weight etc! I came to the end and went to pay . Had left my card at home! . Tina arranged for the food to go straight in the chiller until I returned. When I returned 15 minutes later she directed me to the front of James till where they presented me with an unpaid receipt which 10 seconds later presented card , job done. Thanks to an understanding and polite team. Great to leave a positive review to a business
As a keyworker and person of colour, I feel really disappointed to be asked to open up my empty bags I kept in the trolley when I got to the till to 3nable them see what I had in them when the bags could be visibly seen to be empty and flat on the trolley. Had 5 customers ahead of me on the queue with loads of bags but were never asked same question. I felt humiliated and when I complained to customer services, they advised me that they now have a bag search policy but couldn't justify why others ahead of me who are not of colour weren't asked the same question. For over 5 years I've shopped here but never will I get back there again. I never believed racism can happen at somewhere you have happily shopped over the years.
Expected to scan whole full trolley at self checkout. The items were falling everywhere. The staff not really aware of the customers needs. It is absolutely ridiculous that everyone is expected to use self service. Good bye Aldi, not worth shopping here any more. And as you will probably say that it's to cut the cost of my shopping. £5 per shop is not worth the effort.
My first time visiting an Aldi, I don’t understand the hype. The store is tiny, not a great selection and when I crunched the numbers, I saved 50p compared to going to Tesco, which was because Aldi happened to have a multi-buy-saving on one item that Tesco wasn’t running on the same item. The Tescos in Alver is larger, has more selection, and is approximately the same price. I think the notion of Aldi being cheaper is because someone is less likely to make impulsive purchases in Aldi because there’s naff-all there, so you come out spending less.
Always stocks the majority of what I need but I can never see any gluten free products-bread or cookies/cakes/biscuits?
Great selection of items as good as named brands but cheaper ,friendly staff and plenty of middle aisle bargains
Great Staff, love the bargains! Fab to have plants without having to go to a GC
Man on till just searched a retired ladies bags, apparently it's now shop policy to search ALL bags, how embarrassing for both the staff and customers, what if she had very personal or private items in there, absolutely disgraceful. If you don't trust any customers anymore you won't keep any customers.
Guy supervising self checkout at around 11:30 just the nicest guy ever, was very kind and genuine
