Story

Rose Cottage is a Grade II listed 15th Century Cottage with all the character to take you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The exposed beams and open fire provide a cosy homely ambience, an ideal treat for those cold winter days.
Rose Cottage is owned by Michael and Libby. Whilst Michael looks after all things out doors, I have always dreamt of having my own tea room and Rose Cottage is just the place .

Our afternoon teas are made using carefully selected and locally sourced ingredients including artisan breads from the family baker. Eggs are laid by our chickens Rose, Blossom, Petal, Violet, Daisy Poppy and Lilly and you will probably be greeted by Reggie our tri-coloured Border Collie.

​All my food is prepared and freshly baked in our farmhouse kitchen and served with those special Libby touches.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at rose cottage on saturday for my nans 80th birthday! We all absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is warm & cosy by the fire perfect for a January afternoon. And of course all of the delicious food, the best SAUSAGE ROLLS ive tasted...and the biggest cheese straws I've ever seen! Lovely mixture of cakes and sandwiches...we even took home a doggy bag!! a massive thank you to libby the effort & attention to detail is fab!! Will definitely be back with friends
Wow! What a treat. After a lovely walk along the river Stour working up an appetite and enjoying the beautiful countryside we arrived at Rose Cottage for our afternoon tea. We were greeted with a smile from our host Libby and shown to the beautiful dining room. The table was layed out ready with very quintessentially English crockery and looked amazing. The feast was then brought to the table. 3 tiers of cakes, scones and sandwiches  and a plate of hot sausage rolls and warm cheese straws. Delicious sandwiches with various fillings on freshly baked bread. All made with local produce. Eggs laid on site by the friendly hens in the garden. The sausage rolls and cheese straws are so good. In fact my mother in law stated the cheese straws are 'To die for'. They are really very good. A great selection of sweet treats. Lemon drizzle cake, Rocky road, mini Victoria sponge with apricot jam. Not forgetting a light and tasty fruit scone which you can fill with jam and clotted cream. We were absolutely stuffed at the end..but very happy. Such a lovely home and experience. Highly recommend a visit.  If you can also tie it in with a walk around the local area. Already taking about when we will go back.
The most amazing, warm, cosy welcome by Libby and reggie, to a wonderful afternoon tea. It was so special and memorable. The food was devine and so very delious.
