Booked this place for my family. They used to stay in the stirling one but standards just kept slipping there so we thought we would try the sister branch. The bridge of allan one has been good for 2 years but their last stay was sub standard. They rented one of the attached houses which are nicely laid out. They were told to call reception if they needed assistance, however no phone in the house! Next morning gas in the kitchens had failed and breakfast offered was not good. I realise this was not their fault. However for a breakfeast for 7 people only a 20 pound discount was offered despite half the full breakfast not being on the plate, this was a paltry amount considering the £600 bill total for the stay. My brother asked for scrambled eggs, Which they said they couldn't do without gas (microwave!) They then served scrambled eggs to the next table 2 minutes later! The following morning they were checking out early and staff offered them a cold breakfast to be brought to the house. It never came. They went to reception and they couldn't find a single soul in the place for half an hour! I hope the hotel can pull itself together would be a shame to see it decline. I rarely leave negative reviews and I'm really not picky but this place has got to shape up. I would like to add an Amendment my review, The hotel has contacted me offering a full apology and also a complimentary nights stay for my parents. I really appreciate this from the hotel, and I will assume we were just particularly unlucky at the time. The hotel explained there was a severe breakdown in communication with the kitchen and aim to ensure this doesn't happen again. I am delighted that they have taken the time to contact me. Much appreciated and I'm sure our next stay will be more to the usual standard
