Lovely venue! Was very impressed with everything - the building itself is lovely, very well looked after, but the star of the show is the staff in both the Theatre itself and the attached cafe. Attended at a very busy time but staff handled it so well, very friendly and welcoming, made me feel right at home! Would definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
Amazing is not the word.nA gift for my partner and the venue admittedly we went to see an amazing band we need more of these type events as that was amazing.. I think the atmosphere would have been totally different if it'd been at one of the bigger venues like the Hydro in Glasgow. Definitely worth going parking is across the road, but be quick, fills up quickly.
I was at the Matinee yesterday of Elf, the show and cast were amazing. I do have a couple of gripes though about the seating, the settees in the upstairs foyer are too low and soft for those that are less able. I use a crutch and had a seat whilst waiting on the lift after the show however my sister had to help me up as I struggled to get up. Also given the Theatre has had a huge refurbishment I think they should have considered actually splitting the seats and put in a middle aisle, again making it easier for people to enter/leave their seats.
Best place for panto with kids! Lovely area near the snack bar upstairs with a big screen to see the oerformance and activites for kids to do if they aren't able to cope with sitting that long. Toilets and common areas were very clean and well maintained.
Lovely food and really friendly staff a great place to meet up and relax with a cuppa and cake as well as checking out what shows are coming up
