Highly recommended! Great product! Jonathan-great communication! Installation engineer Dali-very professional and tidy! Everything without any delays! Great company & great people! 5
We wanted a period fireplace for our 100 year old new home. Thanks to Jonathan at Acquisitions we found a copy of Boudoir from Eltham Palace. A beautiful piece of work in Limestone. We enjoyed guidance and excellent service from our first meeting to installation and cannot recommend Acquisitions highly enough - outstanding.
I was very happy with the service. I had my fire serviced my acquisitions and they came within a week and resolved all my issues very smoothly. Thanks!
We recently used Acquisitions to supply and install an Adam style fireplace with a Portuguese Limestone mantelpiece. From start to finish we received fast, polite service, keen prices and excellent workmen who arrived on time as promised and left our h9me clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to highly recommend them.
Dealing with Acquisitions has been a total disaster from start to end. Their initial installation design included cutting through all of the joists in an upstairs bedroom wall meaning the wall would have collapsed. The gas fire we paid several thousands of pounds for has not worked consistently in any of the three years since we bought it and we have had a different independent, sub-contracted fitter each time we have had a problem during subsequent customer service. Look elsewhere to avoid expensive disappointment.
Acquistions started off well, installing a fireplace for us as we renovated our home. But the last job was a disaster. They got paid in advance but didn’t show up to finish the job until a week of chasing and begging was over, leaving 3 holes in the side of our house through the brick wall with plastic bags blowing in the wind. They dumped the chimney liner outside the front of the house and didn’t bother to clean it up. They left the fireplace paint completely ruined and said they “don’t do finishes”. Would not recommend
I really wanted the process of ordering a bespoke marble fire surround through Acquisitions to be a lovely experience. Sadly, they failed at every opportunity to provide even the most basic customer service. I should have sensed it wasn't going to be an easy process from the initial email exchanges. I received one-line emails from the salesperson, clearly uninterested in serving a B2C customer. I persisted, and eventually, the design was signed off. After lengthy delays in manufacturing, I rather strangely received an email asking for same-day, last-minute approvals - clearly it was chaos at their end. Even more strangely, I received a stroppy reply from the Managing Director when I asked why such rushed and last-minute approvals were needed. All very odd. The delivery information was non-existent to start with, then inaccurate - the surround didn't arrive on time Acquisitions simply referred me to the courier where is transpired the delivery date they'd given me was never achievable. Emails went unanswered. Frankly, no one at Acquisitions gave a hoot. When emails were replied to, they remained nameless - clearly, no one wanted to be accountable for all the errors and generally lousy service. We had the surround fitted by a firm that installed our stove I'm not sure Acquisitions even know or care it eventually arrived - they gave up trying to help me. They too were incredibly frustrated with Acquisitions as none of the typical fittings were included - causing more headaches all around. All that said, the surround itself is good, hence giving two stars instead of one. But I will never use this company again and would urge others to avoid going through the same experience - there are surely better, friendlier, and more professional companies out there.
Spoke to a very helpful person at the store who said she would send me the estimate for the job the following day. 8 days later I am still waiting, in spite of gently reminding them by email after 3 days. Not impressed.
If you're a non-trade customer that also requires installation I'd strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Their Contracts Manager, Andre, doesn't seem to understand the fundamental difference between a quote and an estimate. We were issued with a quote, which in itself was quite a painful process, only to be hit with a bill for an extra £600 five days after the installation team first visited our property. That was communicated to us via email, which in itself I find unacceptable, but that was also despite a site visit which was required by Acquisitions to issue a quote in the first place. It turns out Acquisitions sub-contract their installations, which in principle I have no issue with, but any commercial arrangement between Acquisitions and the installations team should have no bearing on the quote first agreed with the end customer. Of course none of the above is made clear during the initial sales process and you're also forced to pay the balance in full at the point of order leaving you with very little leverage. A set of step ladders was also mistakenly taken from our flat by the installation team and despite me sending multiple emails to both Acquisitions and the installer no real effort has been made to return them so I've given up.
I called about a stove installation, saying clearly I was buying the stove myself secondhand and that was urgent. Lady on the other side asked many informations including the model of the used stove and finally asked me to email photos and details, fair enough. I sent the email, it took a while to take all photos and measures requested. Then no answer. After 36 hours I've called again, and the man on the line said they just don't install anything they're not selling themselves. Cool, what about saying at first? or answering the email at least...after all this they replied to the email, and said sorry no one got back to me but they don't install stoves they don't sell and their contacts don't deal with secondhand. After not saying when I needed the information, now you've said it twice. Strange way to behave, formally kind, substantially confusing.
